Waino not looking sharp tonight. He’s walked three and is getting hit hard. Alsonso just ripped one into the gap that Bader ran down before it got too deep, saving a run. 2nd and 3rd with none out, still.

Waino flat out doesn’t have it tonight. The Cards are gonna have to outslug the Mets. Kevin Pillar of all people takes him deep and it’s 5-2.

NYM lineup will definitely test our pitching.

The Mets have a lot of good hitters, but believe it or not they are last in the majors in runs scored.

Arenado had his pitch to hit there 1-1. He fouls it back with men on the corners and 2 out. He got another pretty good pitch to hit 1-2. Get that timing down, Nolan! Ok, that looked like a phantom foul ball.

    3 run bomb, Arenado!!! 5-5!

I am convinced Bader not in the 8 hole is an omen. But good or bad?

Dejong with yet another extra base hit…that’s 20 extra base hits in 21 career games against the Mets.

For the last few years when we were down 3+ runs, at any juncture, we were pretty much toast. But that was BA(Before Arenado).

O’Neill with the RBI double! Man, Tyler is fast. 6-5, Cards.

They must have had a team meeting about Wainwrights run support 😉

Bader pops out down the RF line to our big free agent signing of the 2021 off-season and that’s it. 4 runs more to back up Waino was a nice response.

Anybody know if this duly departed Met starter is related to the old Philadelphia skipper, Frank Lucchesi, in any fashion?

Good inning! Nolan with the three-run shot to tie it. O’Neal drives in the go ahead run with a double.

O’Neal looks like a completely different player since returning from the IL. Hoping his performance over the past several games is a glimpse of many good things to come from Tyler.

Touche 1964Cards. Hopefully we have a jewel in this kid.

Arenado nearly makes an incredible play to get McNeil. The shift burns the Cards on that play.

I was just checking in and watched the bader at bat on mlb pitch tracking. The umpire went out of his way to call a pitch a strike that was in the exact same location he called a ball in just moments before. That’s what irritates me about umpires. Call in wide, call it tight I don’t care but call it consistent. That’s the hardest thing batters can deal with cause batters don’t know when an ump is going to be inconsisten

The robotical home plate ump may be here soon, Willie. The only problem would be how in heck would you argue with one? You could call it every name in the book and it would just stand there looking back at you completely composed.

O’Neill has gone from -5 to 34 to 81 to 355 wRC+ on sliders in his 4 years. That’s how you force pitchers to throw you fastballs.

Unfortunately, he’s went from 172 to 60 to 82 to 13 wRC+ against four seam fastballs. That could be the way we see him start being pitched, and he’ll have to adjust again.

    Against sinkers he’s went from 294 to 104 to 91 to 93.

    Against changeups he’s been 263 to 227 to 132 to -99.

    Against curves he’s went from 92 to -7 to -32 to 125.

K-niz was fed a constant diet of pitches in on the hands and could not handle them. Looks like that may be the book on him right now.

Really like that the Mets went back to their traditional uni’s instead of those black hats. Like the combo Dodgers-Giants colors.

Would not mind Alonso on our club.

Waino gets the double play ball and finishes the 5th. Good battling by Waino tonight. Now let’s get to that bullpen and add some cushion to the lead!

Is Gsellman like like Knizner, where his name is pronounced “Gellman”? The second letter being there just for show?

Goldy and Arenado both ripped shots that inning. Unfortunately, both were right at defenders and both went for outs.
