Uconn the declining popularity of baseball among youngsters in the U.S. is a legit topic and important to many baseball fans. It is in that sense that the increased incidence of players of foreign origin in pro ball is a matter of note. It seems clear that it was brought up in that context.
I was unwell and went to bed. Had I not, I would have started with paper and switched to plastic in the 8th hoping to put myself out of my misery.

O’Niels really been doing good lately, if Bader can get hot again we could really take off. Carlsons getting better and better too!
The thing I hate worst is them striking out with runners on base or us badly needing a base runner. I want to see better ability to put the ball in play in those situations.

I was referring to the attendance not being acceptable. 25k-30k isn’t going to cut it in St. Louis, .500 team or not. As Brian alluded to, if the attendance continues to dwindle it could very much impact our payroll budget for 2022, which is not good.
I think covid has very little to do with our low attendance. Missouri has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the nation so covid doesn’t appear to be a big concern for the citizenry there, therefore, I am assuming the fans aren’t going to the games because they aren’t pleased with this team.
Last I knew, baseball doesn’t have a language requirement. Nor should it. Period.
Pretty sure his comment had nothing to do with wanting to establish a language requirement, but rather to mention the growing concern for an abating interest in baseball among the younger generation in the predominantly English speaking USA.
Cardinals say 29,090 is the attendance for a Friday night home game against a team whose fan base can pretty easily commute here.

Cardinals are still making bang. Money is floating around this stadium like angel dust. Every person has two drinks some a whole lot more, throw in lots of food merchandise. Sick money. In spite of schildts inability to put up steal signs we might win this game. Why the heck have these speed guys if you aren’t going to use them. It’s just sad and bad management.
I wonder what sort of crowds they have over at Ballpark Village. Last I was there was 2019 and those establishment were mostly mobbed.
If this team was contending for first place the stadium would be packed. I have no doubts about that.
Winner! Nice game. There was a lack of daring on the bases Willie. Might not want to risk anybody getting hurt as long as they were ahead.
