Not a 1-2-3 , but Waino strands a lead off hit and does it with a 10 pitch inning. Looking good through 3. To early , but Waino is one that Shildt will leave in there after 6.
Remember Carp’s salsa days? As soon as he duped MO into extending him for all those millions of dollars of the fans’ money (‘I want to finish my career as a Cardinal.’), he quit doing salsa and shamelessly reverted to what he’s giving us now. I feel betrayed.
I have no problem seeing Oviedo going down to sharpen up. He was brought in early out of desperation when everybody went down. He could be much better next year.
I disagree. A guy can either throw strikes or he can’t and Oviedo can’t. 2018 in Peoria 5.8 BB/9, 2019 in Springfield 5.1 BB/9, this year in STL 5.3 BB/9. In each case WHIP up over 1.500 as you expect with those walk rates. That never works in a MLB rotation. We have nothing much better at the moment, but other than that, they are wasting their time.
Zeuch is a guy we wouldn’t have looked at previously. He doesn’t miss enough bats. Low K rate. But has always had a good walk rate too, although not this year in his MLB stint. The trend with these bargain bin guys has been low walk rate. A total 180 from previously.
Got lucky on that steal, he might have been in there. I don’t know why edman took the mitt off of him. He holds it on him and there isn’t any question. Our guys don’t even have basic fielding fundamentals down.
