Not a 1-2-3 , but Waino strands a lead off hit and does it with a 10 pitch inning. Looking good through 3. To early , but Waino is one that Shildt will leave in there after 6.
July 27, 2021 at 7:07 pm #167925Waino try to sneak a fast ball and Rameriez was all on it to give the Indians a 2-1 lead.
July 27, 2021 at 7:11 pm #167926Fast paced game. Already through 4 and its only been an hour.
July 27, 2021 at 7:12 pm #167927Look for Yadi to attack that first pitch if it’s in the zone.
July 27, 2021 at 7:12 pm #167928Or not.
July 27, 2021 at 7:14 pm #167929Yadi still doesn’t look right.
July 27, 2021 at 7:20 pm #167930Carp can’t produce a 2 out hit. The birds trail by 1 heading to the home 5th
July 27, 2021 at 7:24 pm #167931Can’t afford to fall behind by to many runs
July 27, 2021 at 7:31 pm #167932Waino is due..
July 27, 2021 at 7:33 pm #167933Ooops… forgot it was in An Al Park. AL rules
July 27, 2021 at 7:35 pm #167934Remember Carp’s salsa days? As soon as he duped MO into extending him for all those millions of dollars of the fans’ money (‘I want to finish my career as a Cardinal.’), he quit doing salsa and shamelessly reverted to what he’s giving us now. I feel betrayed.
July 27, 2021 at 7:35 pm #167935Danny Mac acting like Quantril is doing something special against this line up. It’s been done many times this season
July 27, 2021 at 7:35 pm #167936Nado hoping to give the Birds a lead.
July 27, 2021 at 7:41 pm #167937I have no problem seeing Oviedo going down to sharpen up. He was brought in early out of desperation when everybody went down. He could be much better next year.
I disagree. A guy can either throw strikes or he can’t and Oviedo can’t. 2018 in Peoria 5.8 BB/9, 2019 in Springfield 5.1 BB/9, this year in STL 5.3 BB/9. In each case WHIP up over 1.500 as you expect with those walk rates. That never works in a MLB rotation. We have nothing much better at the moment, but other than that, they are wasting their time.
July 27, 2021 at 7:42 pm #167938Yadi looks too skinny.
July 27, 2021 at 7:45 pm #167939That hurt. Bases loaded, one out and the Redbirds come up empty!

ParticipantWell oneil really didn’t have a good at bat. With one out, we needed better. We needed what yadi gave us or just a ground ball to the right side.
July 27, 2021 at 7:48 pm #167941You think Yadi’s losing weight Bling?
July 27, 2021 at 7:48 pm #167942Agree Willie!
July 27, 2021 at 7:50 pm #167943Last time I saw us with bases loaded an 2 outs we whiffed all the way. O’Niel and Yadi actually hitting the ball was a huge improvement.
July 27, 2021 at 7:51 pm #167944Zeuch is a guy we wouldn’t have looked at previously. He doesn’t miss enough bats. Low K rate. But has always had a good walk rate too, although not this year in his MLB stint. The trend with these bargain bin guys has been low walk rate. A total 180 from previously.

ParticipantGot lucky on that steal, he might have been in there. I don’t know why edman took the mitt off of him. He holds it on him and there isn’t any question. Our guys don’t even have basic fielding fundamentals down.
July 27, 2021 at 7:55 pm #167946A mistake by each starter. Only difference, wainos was a 2 run mistake
July 27, 2021 at 7:55 pm #167947Let’s get something going off their bullpen
July 27, 2021 at 7:56 pm #167948What a gaffe by Edmund! That really hurt.
