Well we dodged a bullet there. Helsley was just throwing batting practice it almost looked like. On a side note, though my channel shows it being bally midwest Cardinals channel, I got the bally ohio broadcast which means I have to sit through these horrible reds announcers.

Cabrera struggling to find the zone. If he ever gets consistent command, he’s gonna be one of the top relievers in the game.
Williams has a Fowler sort of look to his defense, seems like he could be a solid defender in right. Thankfully he doesn’t make those stabby back handed catches at chest level like Dex.

Williams flirts with the center field warning track…. it’s an out, but it does offer a glimpse of offensive hope for our new right fielder.
With these sparse crowds, it should be fairly easy to snag a foul ball at the ole’ballpark. We better get em while the getting is good, because these ballparks will be bursting at the seams come summer.

5-3 Pittsburgh your happy final from Wrigley this afternoon. All 3 cub tallies coming via the sac fly route. The hapless ones could only muster 2 measely hits off 7 Buc hurlers. Howard the victor with Hendricks getting saddled with the loss. Hayes for the Pirates with the game’s lone round tripper…..a towering 1st inning 2 run blow.
