Enter one, Ryan Dalton Helsley to restore order in the 6th. India promptly greets him with a solid base knock. Gotta love Blandino’s #”0″ uni number……and he continues issuing the love as he watches strike 3 go sailing by, right on down Broadway. Now Helsley is just asking for trouble as Stephenson laces a full count offering into right for a hit….with Blandino slamming on the brakes at 2nd. Winker rifles a shot into right for a hit, but hit a bit too hard for Blandino to contemplate any notions of scoring…..bases juiced with Redlegs with only one down and in steps Mr. Castellano. Lines one to left that O’Neill will catch…..and Stephenson strays way away from 2nd and he’ll be doubled off….sweet sweet twin killing! 11-7 Cards

Well we dodged a bullet there. Helsley was just throwing batting practice it almost looked like. On a side note, though my channel shows it being bally midwest Cardinals channel, I got the bally ohio broadcast which means I have to sit through these horrible reds announcers.

Cardinal In France going beddy-by on opening day? That’s not the Cardinal In France that we all have come to know and love. Hey, anyone seen Euro Dandy?

O’Neill is hitting fifth in the lineup. That isn’t too bad

True but DeJong has no business batting cleanup as he sucks at hitting baseballs

Scoring correction….you guys are napping…. it’s 11-6 not 11-7…..you all did not pass the first test here in ’21.

Cabrera struggling to find the zone. If he ever gets consistent command, he’s gonna be one of the top relievers in the game.

I actually like this India kid for the reds. Seems like a good player for the reds

Williams has a Fowler sort of look to his defense, seems like he could be a solid defender in right. Thankfully he doesn’t make those stabby back handed catches at chest level like Dex.

Genesis Cabrera does the job….but not without a little undue excitement. 11-6 Birds heading to the 7th.

Same here, Willie. He was a favorite from that draft class that could end up turning out a lot of really good players in a few years.

Williams flirts with the center field warning track…. it’s an out, but it does offer a glimpse of offensive hope for our new right fielder.

Sad for Marp…lets two strikes go by and then swings at one well off the plate.

Carter – Careful with that comment about DeJong. You might be accused of pollution.

Well Cardinals haven’t looked too good against the relievers.

With these sparse crowds, it should be fairly easy to snag a foul ball at the ole’ballpark. We better get em while the getting is good, because these ballparks will be bursting at the seams come summer.

Just ignore bc, Carter. He’s upset because the Cards are having a good game so he can’t put forth his negative view about the Cards for one more day.

Bc used to be a great poster, not sure where he decided to become more negative about his team.

5-3 Pittsburgh your happy final from Wrigley this afternoon. All 3 cub tallies coming via the sac fly route. The hapless ones could only muster 2 measely hits off 7 Buc hurlers. Howard the victor with Hendricks getting saddled with the loss. Hayes for the Pirates with the game’s lone round tripper…..a towering 1st inning 2 run blow.

Doolittle must be fairly deceptive…he’s thrown a number of pitches in the middle of the plate this inning and mostly gotten away with it.
