Good link stlcard25. I was at Scott AFB in 98. My son and I probably saw about 10 of Big Mac’s HRs at Busch that year, but not the “545” shot.
Here is an article I had read that talks about quite a few shots over the years estimated to be over 500 feet.

ParticipantEuro – are you former USAF?
October 1, 2020 at 10:24 pm #143265Brian, I was wondering the same thing about the Cub game. There was nothing on the radar when the game was called. Something weird about that decision.
October 1, 2020 at 10:47 pm #143271Yep, bccran. I think we talked about that before. MM3, you and I reminisced a few months ago on the COVID thread IIRC. I was at HQ AMC/USTRANSCOM at Scott 1998-2000.

ParticipantThey’s right. Senior moment. Sorry, Euro. I enjoyed my 6+ years on active duty.
October 2, 2020 at 8:16 am #143289Another NL Central team is swept as the Brewers lost again to the Dodgers last night.
The Cubs and Marlins play at 1 p.m. CT today on ABC.
October 2, 2020 at 1:04 pm #143332With the Cubs-Marlins game on ABC I can watch it while working from home. Cool! Go ‘Lins!!
October 2, 2020 at 2:44 pm #143342Starlin Marte not in the lineup for the Marlins today. Replaced by Mags Sierra.
October 2, 2020 at 3:24 pm #143351Marlins up 1-0 in the 7th. Cubs down to their last 9 outs.
October 2, 2020 at 3:27 pm #143352And Sierra comes through with a big hit, putting Miami up 2-0 in the 7th.
October 2, 2020 at 3:28 pm #143353Wow, Sierra’s RBI single knocked Darvish out of the game. 2-0 Fish.
October 2, 2020 at 3:28 pm #143355Way to go Mags!
October 2, 2020 at 3:59 pm #143358‘Lins had a chance to tack some runs on with 2 on, none out against Kimbrel. But a DP and a K ended the threat.

stlcard25ParticipantIf the Cubs go on to lose, the 7 Central teams will have combined to go 2-13 heading into the Cards game tonight.
East: 8-2 (Rays beat Blue Jays)
West: 7-2October 2, 2020 at 4:08 pm #143361
jj-cf-stlParticipantJust shut up and go to 1B Contreras. Everyone knows you threw your elbow out there to get the HBP.
October 2, 2020 at 4:13 pm #143362
jj-cf-stlParticipantContreras led the NL in HBP for a reason, but still wants to bark like a punk about it.
October 2, 2020 at 4:17 pm #143363C’mon Donnie boy, c’mon, beat them Cubs. Only three outs to go! What a hoot this would be!
It couldnt happen, could it?????

October 2, 2020 at 4:22 pm #143365Oh man, bottom of the ninth coming up and ABC switched to an update on Trump’s condition!
Cubs offense looking very Cardinal-like today. Hopefully they continue that for three more outs! Go Marlins!
October 2, 2020 at 4:25 pm #143366
jj-cf-stlParticipantit’s on espn now, if you have it Mike
October 2, 2020 at 4:28 pm #143367Thanks JJ – no cable for me, so I am checking Gameday on mlb.com.
October 2, 2020 at 4:29 pm #143368
stlcard25ParticipantCubs down to their final out…
October 2, 2020 at 4:34 pm #143370
stlcard25ParticipantCubs lose 2-0, and 2-0 for the series. Quite the turn of events. The Cards are the only one of 7 Central teams left alive. Only one team from any other division has been eliminated.
October 2, 2020 at 4:34 pm #143371‘Lins win! ‘Lins win! Cubs are done. Man, the Central is going down in flames. Up to the Cardinals to show some spark and win tonight.
October 2, 2020 at 4:38 pm #143372How can this be???
This makes me happy!!!
Like the old saying goes. I hear Pugs say it all the time – HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN!!!!!!
