1,2,3 inning for Hud after we re-took the lead. I love it when a pitcher protects a momentum shift like that.
Bader beautifully takes one oppo for a stand-up lead-off double. He’s swinging the bat better, seriously better. I think the tough love Bull Shildt gave him is paying off. Bull still pushing all the right buttons.

Edmund helped the pitcher there. That ball looked high and inside …not a strike … tough to do anything with that pitch.
The closing ledger on Lester this evening was not a pretty one if you’re a booster of the cubbies. How does 3 1/3 innings of labor, yielding 5 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, while whiffing 4 grab you? He’s quickly becoming my favorite cubbie.
Yadi has abandoned Hudson’s breaking ball. Can’t blame him with men on base and Dakota bouncing them.
