    This bullpen is nauseating.

Hey, let’s put the game in the hands of our pen…..even earlier than we have to. What could go wrong?

He’s still ready to rock in prime time, NJ. Schwarber whiffs for the third time this afternoon, but he sure hurt us with that go ahead dinger earlier.

Bringing in Cecil is like waving a big old white flag.

Like I said before, I would gladly be rid of everyone in the bullpen save for Hicks, Mayers, Leone and Brebbia this offseason. Then fill in the rest with Gomber, Helsley, Ponce, Hudson, etc. Guys with actual upside.

Oh, great. Cecil is too lazy to prevent the stolen base and then gives up the single for insurance.

Goodness, remember when Gyorko was thought of as a good 3B defender? That was a horrible throw. Here comes the dagger.

How can we not come back with Euro now in the house! Oh oh…
Contreras just makes it 5-2 on a base knock to left. Now Gyorko just airmails a throw to 1st and ince again we witness an unnecessary extended inning!

What a waste of a Sunday afternoon. Btw we are going to be tied with Pittsburgh after today. The Reds are gonna be livid after being swept. There’s a very real chance this is a 4th place team by mid week.

Time to sell off the redundancies like Norris and Gyorko and take offers on Pham and Ozuna.

I dunno. The strategy comes into question more since Mayers did not deliver. Mikolas’ pitch count was low, but he was not cruising.

Mikolas had given up two hits in each of his last two innings and was bailed out in the fifth by a double play.

The Cards had two on and two out in a tie game with Mikolas’ spot up in the top of the sixth. The call was for Gyorko off the bench to pinch hit. It did not work.

“Oh look an error”…..I have no idea why, but that made me howl, NJ!!! Must have been funny, because I usually can’t muster even a smile while the cubbies are pelting us.

CardinalInFrance in attendance too! Too bad our Birds are getting belted or we would be really having a ball.

Taking Mikolas out was a bad decision. But then why pinch with Gyorko who has been..”under the weather” why not Bader? I understand the defensive alignment he was going for after but you have to put your better option when pinch hitting.

Shildt is going to have little to no chance at shedding the “interim” label with such horrid team performances. I think this year is a lost cause. I would love to see a retool and reset for next season because there is good talent here that is floundering right now under what seems to be a black cloud of despair in Cardinals Nation that has shrouded not only the fans but the staff and players.

Really, I can’t fault the pen decisions to an extreme. Whether it’s Matheny, Schildt, or whoever, it doesn’t matter. I just hope next time the Cards make a decision on a bullpen acquisition, it’s done when Mo is away on vacation or out with a head cold.

NJ, Bader could have been good against the lefty Contreras, too, but Gyorko has also hit left-handed pitching better than right over his career. Not sure how sick he still is today, but that throw made me wonder.

Five to tie and six to seize the lead. Stranger things have happened.
