Pena has turned out to be a very adequate receiver in Yadi’s absence. I think Kelly’s future may be as a pitcher.
May 21, 2018 at 8:53 pm #53535Just saw the stat that Mikolas is 19 of 21 on first-pitch strikes. Hmmm, so that must be important, huh?
May 21, 2018 at 8:56 pm #53536Pugs, I never thought of that possibility. So maybe Kelly will close out a Game 7 World Series for the Cards some day, a la Jason Motte.
May 21, 2018 at 8:59 pm #53539Joe or Carson?
May 21, 2018 at 9:00 pm #53540Kid Kelly does appear to be a bit of a Bulldog, Euro, so it could end up being a happening thing. Garcia now leaving with an injury. Let us hope its not of a serious nature. Any Schrock sightings yet?
May 21, 2018 at 9:01 pm #53541Garcia pulled! Was in the kitchen when I heard it. Maybe precautionary?
May 21, 2018 at 9:03 pm #53543Garagiola or Johnny?
This could be fun
May 21, 2018 at 9:06 pm #53544You’d have to make room for Schrock which could be done by moving another injured guy to the 60-day DL. Leone and Gregerson would be the primary candidates.
May 21, 2018 at 9:07 pm #53545Pham with the golden sombrero. Absolutely horrible at the plate tonight.
May 21, 2018 at 9:08 pm #53546Love your line of thinking, BlackHills! Lets 60 day Leone.
May 21, 2018 at 9:08 pm #53547Nobody is saying O’Neill is Cooperstown.People are glad to see a lively bat instead of Fowlers sorry attempts at the plate.
May 21, 2018 at 9:12 pm #53549So far I haven’t seen just how serious Leone’s arm injury is other than read that it is nerve damage. That seems to indicate it would be very serious. I figured Leone would be 60-day’d when they were needing a space for Reyes.
May 21, 2018 at 9:17 pm #53551Been hard on him so will send kudos. Anyone else thrilled it appears Carpenter has finally changed his launch angle and is hitting doubles again? Average has blossomed.
May 21, 2018 at 9:17 pm #53552And right on cue he goes deep.
May 21, 2018 at 9:20 pm #53553Nice to see John Jay doing well. Always liked him as a Cardinal.
May 21, 2018 at 9:22 pm #53554Martinez just victimized on the worst strike-three call I’ve seen all year.
May 21, 2018 at 9:22 pm #53555Right on BW!
Yep, Leone is destined for the 60 day.
Was just thinking about some 100 yard dash competitions that would be neat to see.
Now Carpenter goes yard!!
How about Yadi (when not injured) vs a nearly 60 year old Vince Coleman. I’d still go with Vince
Or how about Jose Oquendo vs. Joe Buck? Buck is skinny but I bet slow as molasses.May 21, 2018 at 9:23 pm #53556
stlcard25ParticipantThe Galveston Grinder with another three hit game…his average is now up to .210. Good to see the hits start coming for Marp. This offense needs him clicking.
May 21, 2018 at 9:26 pm #53557You’d have to make room for Schrock which could be done by moving another injured guy to the 60-day DL. Leone and Gregerson would be the primary candidates.
Why not Tovar?
May 21, 2018 at 9:26 pm #53558Will Mikolas be the first Cardinal to get a complete game?
May 21, 2018 at 9:26 pm #53559Geesh O’Neill has a sweet stroke. Not as splendid as JD Drew, but pretty darn nice….even when he Whiffs such as he did in this at bat. 6-0 Good Guys as we mozzy along to the 8th.
May 21, 2018 at 9:30 pm #53561Martinez just victimized on the worst strike-three call I’ve seen all year.
It was very bad
May 21, 2018 at 9:31 pm #53562Could be Euro. Wonder what pitchers with what team were the last to throw 3 consecutive complete games in a 3 game series?
May 21, 2018 at 9:31 pm #53563Milwaukee beat Arizona 4-2 fwiw
May 21, 2018 at 9:33 pm #53564Miles at 96 pitches. Cecil warming up. 3 outs to go. Moustakas up in the 9th, so good setup I think.
