Gyroko should have been given a E just for giving up. Good 2nd for Mikolas, now need to put pressure on KC defense.
If you don’t like Francisco Pena then you flat out don’t like baseball…..coming off a couple 3 hit games vs Philly….ooops whiffs here, but Francisco will live to see another at bat….that you can bet the house on!

Carpenter single followed by a Martinez base rap brings Marcell to the dish with 2 outs…..stay tuned….base hit to right!! Carp scores as Jorge bobbles the ball allowing runners to move up to 2nd & 3rd. O’Neill at the plate…..skies one deep to right!!!! Soler looks up but can only look in wonderment as that baby is long gone!!!
Looks like Merrifield lost that little popup in the….hmmmm….wasn’t the sun……wasn’t the lights…wasn’t interfered with by another player…..by George I think he just plain lost it.
Not impressed with this Merrifield so far. First the botched pop fly and now ……check out his lame slide into 2nd on the inning ending DP.
O’Neill great hit to the Cards bullpen! Credit to Carp, JMart, Ozuna to keep the inning alive. But Pena needs to hustle down the line, he could have made 1st on the muffed throw.
I think Fowler and Bader are now in competition for the 4th and 5th OF spot. O’Neill isn’t going anywhere.
Oh for a long one here by Miles! But he whiffs. Pham up with 2 down and nobody occupying a base. Tommy goes down on strikes as well. 4-0 Birds thru 4 complete. I don’t see a lot of innings in Ian’s immediate future though, as he has now hurled 83 pitches.
I don’t think we’ll see Fowler playing anytime soon
He’ll start tomorrow. Pham likely needs a day off. My only question is who Plays CF if Pham is out. I mean you can’t sit O’Neill but Bader is the better fielder in CF.
Don’t mortgage your house for this O’Neill kid. We’ll have to see what he can do. A few moments of glory doesn’t make him a candidate for Cooperstown.

Ozuna finally seeing the ball….2-2 with a walk. Up strolls Mr. O’Neill…….lines a shot fair down the left field line! Ozuna rounds 3rd and he’ll score on the O’Neill double…5-0!
