A couple of other scores of note….the ChiSox are getting the better of their cross town rivals, as they move along to the bottom of the 8th in Wrigley in a 5-3 ballgame. And in a football score, the Orioles pasted the Rays earlier today by the score of 17-1.
And evidently, Baltimore hasn’t heard of the now written rule about laying down bunts when up by 10…
Oh….by getting the scorekeeper to cheat for you by tacking on a point. You got me there, Cardinals2016……guess I was thinking it was 17-3. Thanks for the good catch, Cardinals2016.
Ha! No the Orioles did run amuck from the new unwritten law of ML baseball….the MR or Mercy Rule as Cardinals2016 refers to it.
Wainwright walks to first two to start the 3rd. Can you really continue going with him? He just looks unsuited for action today, even though he Houdini’d his way through the first two innings. Matheny will keep going with him.
Waino velocity way down and even serves up the eephus pitch to Margot. I think Phil Niekro had greater velocity. Need to put some tallies up pronto.

Wainwright got the 3rd batter on a called strike on a full count, which should’ve been ball four. He then walks the next batter to load ’em full. And the Cardinals are still going with him after a mound visit. We need another Houdini act.

I think a few short relief stints should be in the cards for Waino before he’s flipped the ball in inning #1…..at least for awhile.
