Bader is soooo goood
September 5, 2018 at 6:40 pm #68333Well, Harper has been a difference maker in every game, but this night, it is negative.
September 5, 2018 at 6:45 pm #68335Forsch, on Wisdom, I suspect he was pigeonholed after years of high strikeouts and low batting average. Perhaps like Voit he will get a better shot elsewhere.
September 5, 2018 at 7:31 pm #68337Big City strikes again!! 6-0 Cards!
September 5, 2018 at 7:32 pm #68338Dang Adams, have a night!
September 5, 2018 at 7:34 pm #68339If the front office/manager is not able see a change in the approach of a hitter and their improvement, it makes me wonder about their capabilities.
September 5, 2018 at 7:35 pm #68340Almost to the point we should be bullpen safe! 🙂
September 5, 2018 at 7:44 pm #68341Well,well,well, looks like Adams found his bat. Positive development for sure!
September 5, 2018 at 7:49 pm #68342DH at 3B
September 5, 2018 at 7:49 pm #68343Here come the (G)Nats. Just won’t go away.
September 5, 2018 at 7:50 pm #68344DH at 3B
False. Try again.
September 5, 2018 at 7:52 pm #68345Or try opening your eyes
September 5, 2018 at 7:59 pm #68346He’s a career -2 by DRS at 3B, including +6 this year. Here’s an article that says he’s the 3rd ranked 3B by the SABR index (part of the Gold Glove analysis) this year:
It’s simply not true that he’s a bad defender. It never really has been, yet keeps being advanced by people who only see his lack of a strong arm and assume that makes him a bad defensive player.
September 5, 2018 at 8:00 pm #68347There we go, Muñoz! Way to get the run back.
September 5, 2018 at 8:01 pm #68348That Munoz is a ballplayer. Checks a bunch of boxes.
September 5, 2018 at 8:01 pm #68349Thank you, NJ! This Munoz kid can rake! Boy did he tee off and that solo shot!! 7-1. BIRDS
September 5, 2018 at 8:02 pm #68350Stl moved Carp off 3B for a very good reason, and I agree with their evaluation.

Me too. Martinez was so bad at 1st that there was no way he was making it, and having Gyorko at 3rd with Carpenter at 1st solidified the defense overall.
September 5, 2018 at 8:13 pm #68352Mikolas wasn’t great tonight, but he pitched around trouble and notched a quality start so…mission accomplished.
September 5, 2018 at 8:30 pm #68354Yep, 1B, RF and LF are where clubs typically hide DH types.
But during stretches where two infielders are DL, players out of position is going to happen.
September 5, 2018 at 8:32 pm #68356Why would you send Mikolas back out?
September 5, 2018 at 8:35 pm #68357Yikes Hudson needs to ask Vanna to sell him a strike
September 5, 2018 at 8:36 pm #68358I am not high on Hudson AT ALL kid flat out can not throw strikes and no because of that he lets the NATS right back into this game again..man the pen is TERRIBLE right now.

Or they could simply be playing a position that they’re just fine, even good at, but move off to make room for a better overall team.
The Cards clearly didn’t evaluate him as a DH when they played him at 3rd for the first half of this year and the numbers show that he handled the position very well. He’s no Scott Rolen, but if the team had a real slugger who could play first, he would be plenty fine at 3rd right now.
September 5, 2018 at 8:36 pm #68360NJ315ParticipantHere we go again.
