stlcard25ParticipantThe Cards threatened there, but Gyorko struck out on a ball about at his eyes. This is a very poor performance by the offense tonight.

ParticipantMaybe Ozuna needs to up his consumption of salsa and maybe the singles will become extra base hits.
August 6, 2018 at 8:06 pm #64413NJ315
ParticipantMartinez got there and closed the glove.

stlcard25ParticipantWeaver looks to be tiring. Two straight singles on hard hit balls give them runners on first and second with two out.
August 6, 2018 at 8:08 pm #64416
stlcard25ParticipantHe gets a grounder to end the inning. 9 more outs for the Cards to get some runs across. Can they score 2+?
August 6, 2018 at 8:14 pm #64417You know how this offense rolls sometimes.
. . . . and how it doesn’t roll. 😉

stlcard25ParticipantThis Marlins pitcher is very large. He and Jose Martinez need to stand next to one another to see who’s taller.
He also throws pretty much only fastballs, it seems. Muñoz is battling him hard. Lots of foul balls. Lots more foul balls. He then grounds out.
August 6, 2018 at 8:25 pm #64419Great ab by Munoz! Guererro has the longest legs proportionally I’ve ever seen…..Daddy Long Legs would be a great nickname for the guy.
August 6, 2018 at 8:29 pm #64420What a shame! Garcia just shanked that ball a bit wide right.
August 6, 2018 at 8:29 pm #64421
stlcard25ParticipantGarcia crushed one foul down the right field line. That’s two foul balls with HR distance tonight, after Yadi did it earlier. He then strikes out. Just absolutely cannot get the offense going.
August 6, 2018 at 8:30 pm #64422And don’t they always whiff just after missing a homer foul.
August 6, 2018 at 8:30 pm #644237th inning, Bader beat one into the ground for a 1-out infield hit. Then Muñoz had a 14-pitch AB for a ground out, moving Bader to 2B. Greg Garcia followed with a blast that landed in the seats in RF, but unfortunately landed to the right of the foul pole. He then whiffed to end the threat.
August 6, 2018 at 8:32 pm #64424Garbage!
August 6, 2018 at 8:35 pm #64425Not exactly of webb gem ilk, but the Redbird hurler disposes of Sierra on the bunt popout.
August 6, 2018 at 8:38 pm #64426A leadoff hiccup doesn’t dissuade Webb from then mowing down the Marlins 1-2-3….we move along to the Redbird 8th in a 2-0 Marlins ballgame.
August 6, 2018 at 8:42 pm #64427Carp leads off the 8th with a single. Is this the break through inning?

ParticipantJust got out of a business dinner and turned on the game. How did the Cards manage only one hit in almost 6 innings off a pitcher who has an ERA of 5.86?

stlcard25ParticipantJust got out of a business dinner and turned on the game. How did the Cards manage only one hit in almost 6 innings off a pitcher who has an ERA of 5.86?
Somehow, Chen has the craziest home-away splits in the history of MLB. ERA under 2 at home, over 10 on the road.
August 6, 2018 at 8:50 pm #64430
stlcard25ParticipantA Marlins mistake. Let’s make em pay.
August 6, 2018 at 8:50 pm #64431How did the Cards manage only one hit in almost 6 innings off a pitcher who has an ERA of 5.86?
Makes you scratch your head. Part of it though is Chen. His home/road splits are ridiculous. For example, ERA is 2.18/10.27, WHIP is 1.10/1.96.
August 6, 2018 at 8:51 pm #64432Cy Chen is the real deal, Cranny….as of tonight.
August 6, 2018 at 8:52 pm #64433
stlcard25ParticipantGyorko crushed one that I’m pretty sure he thought was out…only to land in Sierra’s glove at the track. That’s 3 home runs tonight anywhere else but this joke of a park (Bader and 2 for Gyorko).
August 6, 2018 at 9:00 pm #64434Could you imagine Stanton playing in Cincy……he’d crush 85.
August 6, 2018 at 9:09 pm #64435
stlcard25ParticipantWong is in as the pinch hitter with the bases loaded and no one out. Barraclough has struggled to throw strikes this inning.
He Ks on a pitch outside. Cards have gotten hosed on those tonight.
August 6, 2018 at 9:12 pm #64436
stlcard25ParticipantMarp is in…can he push the runs across?
He walks and the run comes in. Still one out and Yadi in.
