stlcard25ParticipantLooks like Shildt does not ascribe to the “save the bullpen” philosophy. Whether it’s the 3rd time through or right on left deal, Gant is out and Gomber is in.
July 29, 2018 at 9:47 pm #62948
stlcard25ParticipantVery nice play by Muñoz there to get the force out.
July 29, 2018 at 9:48 pm #62949Wong who?!!!
July 29, 2018 at 9:50 pm #62950
stlcard25ParticipantAye, there’s the Cardinal defense we know and can’t stand. Good play, bad play for Muñoz.
July 29, 2018 at 9:52 pm #62951I think Munoz felt more rushed than he should’ve. Brutal!
3-2 Cubs
July 29, 2018 at 9:54 pm #62952
stlcard25ParticipantCubs break it open. The defense was horrendous and Shildt’s move to take Gant out was iffy, IMO.
July 29, 2018 at 9:54 pm #62953Very, very costly error by Munoz. 5-2 Cubs. When are our guys going to learn?
July 29, 2018 at 9:55 pm #62954Gomber pitched much better than it appears. Little league defense yet again.
July 29, 2018 at 9:55 pm #629555-2 Cubs on a Baez double.
Defense is just what it is and I don’t think it can be fixed in season. Keeps you from winning some games.
The little thing have killed this team for 2+ seasons.
July 29, 2018 at 9:56 pm #62957
stlcard25ParticipantDoes Gomber just not have any feel for his curve ball or is Yadi just refusing to call it? I don’t think I’ve seen any of them at all tonight.
July 29, 2018 at 9:59 pm #62958Tough to win when you play a lot of innings having to get 4 outs. It’s a little like a hockey game where the other team has far more power play opportunities than your club.
July 29, 2018 at 10:01 pm #62959I think it’s more of Molina wanting him to throw strikes because he has struggled so far at times in his short career to do so.
July 29, 2018 at 10:03 pm #62960Hendricks has settled in
July 29, 2018 at 10:07 pm #62961
stlcard25Participant87 mph Cy Hendricks mows the lineup down again. I think we all have a feeling where this one’s going. I’d enjoy being surprised to wake up to something different but these games are more likely to end up 9-3 than with the Cards scoring the 4 to win.
July 29, 2018 at 10:13 pm #62962Good inning by Brebbia. Now let’s load the bases and put some pressure on the other guys.
July 29, 2018 at 10:32 pm #62963Okay, I’m starting to get a little annoyed.
July 29, 2018 at 10:41 pm #62965LOL – Jose Martinez is a defensive substitution!!!
Only Folwer. *shakes head* Only Fowler.
July 29, 2018 at 10:43 pm #62966A-Rod with some truth being spit out.
So If Martinez was a late scratch why is he playing now?
July 29, 2018 at 10:45 pm #62968So If Martinez was a late scratch why is he playing now?
Maybe they thought he would be traded by the end of the game and the trade fell apart?
OR….
A hobbled JMart is better defensively than a healthy Fowler. HAHAHA
July 29, 2018 at 10:55 pm #62970105 games into the season, Carlos Martinez has a better average, slugging % and OPS than Dexter Fowler…just sayin’ ….
July 29, 2018 at 10:56 pm #62971Or maybe it’s the same old BS from this organization.
And it might be….in LF
July 29, 2018 at 10:57 pm #62972Nice advance by Munoz. I don’t think Heyward thought he’d try to advance.
July 29, 2018 at 11:02 pm #62975God awful At Bat by Paul Strikeout DeJong.
July 29, 2018 at 11:09 pm #62977Well, I turned this God-awful game off.
One team showed up tonight, and one didn’t.
July 29, 2018 at 11:10 pm #62978Or one team showed it’s true colors and so did the other.
