Looks to me like pretty persistent light rain in the St Louis area with maybe some stronger cells later on. But I don’t live there so who knows? Hopefully they get the game in.
Wainwright gives up a first-inning HR but is bailed out by double plays in each of the first two innings.
No hits yet for the Cards, with Lane Thomas the only base runner via walk. Hopefully they can get something moving the second time through the order.
Waino has been solid today. Now that the lineup is turning over, I’m ok leaving him in for another inning but he needs to be pulled at the first sign of trouble.
Everybody is always ragging on about JMart’s defense, but Ozuna hasn’t been very impressive in that regard lately either. Good thing O has got his bat back.
Carp looks just barely off. He is hitting the ball ok, just right at folks. Look for him to go on a “mudville tear” here soon.
Bases loaded and none out for Jmart…now would be a great time for Jose to rediscover the power stroke!
A fan was hit very hard by a line drive. The ball ricocheted so hard it came back onto the field. Praying that she is ok.
Although Yadi is playing well, I would have started Weiters in this one. In fact, this is about three games now I would have given Yadi the day off, but now and then you hear talk that Yadi dictates when he plays, and not the manager.

Thomas having a nice first start with a walk and two infield singles. Wainwright is done with the Cards up 4-1 though six.
Fair point, CIF. No one is suggesting either Ozuna or Martinez are playing well in the field. On the other hand, Ozuna has nine homers and Martinez one.
The Cards get a run thanks to Carp and Goldy, followed by a Jmart fielder’s choice. 5-1 as we wind down to the last two innings.
