Should we assume Wainwright is done for the year? Or will he make one more start the last weekend of the season against Cincinnati?

They should give Adam his last home start.

Waino got what he came back for. Now he can ride into the sunset.

I doubt Waino pitches again but maybe Ollie will have him DH so he can swing the bat one last time.

I read somewhere that he wants to take one last AB.

Arenado is going to finish the season with an OPS of .774. That is not good for someone making $35M. Very disappointing.

My concern is whether Arenado’s back issues are increasing, or even worse, becoming chronic. It appears he tried to play through it and his results suffered. Age 32 is not normally a spot for a big decline.

Oh the Cards will win today….. let’s call it 5-4. Irving Lopez gets the winner in on a suicide squeeze. 🙂

I was under the impressioon that the suicide or safety squeeze along with the hit and run were no longer allowed under the new rules. I haven’t seen any of them attempted all season long…And choking up on the bat handle is obviously a no-no.

The Cubs win today. Final is 6-3 over the Rockies. They desperately need a win tomorrow as next week they have a really tough finishing week. Three games at Atlanta and then three at Milwaukee.

The DBacks and Yankees are rained out in New York due to the tropical storm.

The Pirates and Reds clash later tonight at Crosley Field in Cincinnati.

Giants are at the Dodgers later tonight. I believe Kershaw is on the mound.

2 walks through 2, my mistake. 48 pitches.

Personally I hope waino doesn’t pitch again. That last one is the perfect way to end a career outside of winning the last game of the world series then retiring

Not only can you not attempt them, you can’t even think about them. The idea crossed Motter’s mind 3 times this year and he was DFA’ed each time. Johnny don’t play.

Pallante throws over a third time, so its a balk. What next? Maybe he’s confused by having to come on in relief in the 4th.

Wainwright was interviewed after his 200th win. The interview happened after most of the other postgame interviews were done. So, you had to keep watching for more than 15 minutes after the last out to see his interview. At that time Waino said he had been ‘held together by duct tape’ all season long. He said he was in a lot of pain all season long. He said his back was all taped up for that last win. He said that, mentally, he was fine, and could go on pitching, but his body was not. I’m pretty sure he’s not going to pitch again at the Major League level. We’ll have to wait and see if he takes a final at bat.

Lopez missed his chance with runners on second and third. Couldn’t even put it in play. Winn came through, that’s good to see.

I don’t care if Masyn Winn ever hits over.200 or not. He would be my starter at SS next year. He is by far the best defensive SS we have had since Ozzie.

I hope this one of the last few Verhagen sightings.
