I’m not rightly sure where the post is, these Minor League threads change every week.
So forgive me for not remembering the poster, but Augusto Calderon was brought up on one of these threads, and I wanted to agree and and add to said discussion.
He’s abysmal and old for his competition. He can’t get anyone out. And together with Randel Clemente they account for nearly 30.00 ERA in the Florida State League. Those ties need to be cut. I don’t see any upside with Calderon…. not entirely sure about Clemente, but he shouldn’t see another game in the FSL until a lengthy visit to the Complex/EST (is it still called “EST?”)
Those two took a 5 run lead and turned it into a 5 run deficit in the 7th and 8th inning last night. Adding to there legendary exploits of 2024 ~ there’s only a few, but nothing good.

let’s certainly hope help isn’t on the way, at least, in the past. Not sure the rotation needs any help at the moment. That would be needed in the lineup
April 19, 2024 at 4:55 pm in reply to: StL 2024 Game #20 thread – Friday, April 19 vs. Brewers #248663What will it take to move Goldy off the 2 spot to something like 5 of 6? If Oli and Mo need the L R L R L cadence in their lineup, then Winn’s sporting a hot bat, he’s hit at the top of the lineup his entire career prior to the Majors. I think he should get a 4-6 game look at 2 or 1 in the lineup.
GO Cards.
You all have a blessed weekend
@Shady. I know I’m not a moderator. I was raising a grievance, and showed from the first rule in the Rules thread my said grievance. I entered into this thread and participated in good faith baseball discussion on topic, with facts provided, just like others have done and are doing. You pivoted towards insults and putting words into our mouths, then you called us out individually… in hopes to continue your thread.
I just wanted you to stop the attacks and stay on point.
my apologies to the rest of the board and Brian if I offended anyone with my raised grievance.
Good faith chatter would be ideal, 1td
*Sigh* There is no “anti-Burleson crowd.”
28 pages of wiggly worms like this on hooks. The insults are a plenty, he’s hoping to enrage us.
All repetitive
Matt Koperniak is a good hitter in Memphis…has been a stalwart at proper contact. While not a power bat, and he’ll never be confused as one, maybe/hopefully, the Brit can take Burleson under his wings.
That’s what I’d like to see.
I humbly request that you adhere to:
“We encourage you to share your insights on the threads posted and generates new threads on new Cardinals-related subjects, avoiding duplication. We expect you to extend courtesy and respect to your fellow posters while engaging in lively, dynamic interaction with your fellow posters.
It is against board policy to incite an argument, post a topic or message to draw angry reactions (trolling) or to insult or malign your fellow posters. We will NOT tolerate personal attacks and bullying.”
This is found in the forums rules. Please, refrain from Calling out or Baiting me and others. Stay on your Topic, please.
I’m trying to post and converse in good faith with facts. I ask you stay in line, and cease the personal attacks.
Live Bait…keeps casting live bait
🙂
did anyone say/type “release him?” Get back in line.
2nd time I’ve typed this ~ Demote him, have him work it out for almost a full season in Memphis. Hopefully he gets better. And if he still wants a trade after that, then try to find someone to take him…or maybe he’s more mature than the advocate, and he’ll want to stay and show what he’s learned.
all teams want that, but that’s not Burleson. He’s not a “Talented LH Bat with some potential to be a really good hitter”
that line doesn’t seem to make sense. If he were talented, then he would have more than “some” potential
If I’m a Burleson advocate, I’d want him to do everything he could to get better. Which would include stop swinging at everything. Bad contact isn’t a good thing. Work on that for at least a full season in Memphis. And if you accomplish this, then you can demand a trade.
Even then, we might be able to get a raw/wild reliever that’s too old for Palm Beach.
Oli’s admiration and love for Burleson hitting prowess is evident in 4 straight Days of no starts vs. the “Stout RHP”
At this rate, Burleson will never be able to join his fellow “Pure Hitters” in Cooperstown.
Burleson has no trade value, at least not enough to warrant himself as the center piece of a trade. He would have to settle for being an additional piece, much like John King or Matt Svanson.
Brian Walton typed ~ The next person who accuses another of being a TROLL or TROLLING will lose their posting privileges for seven days, per the published site rules. The warnings are over for those who refuse to keep the talk on baseball.
I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to mischaracterize what he’s been doing. What would you call it, so I can properly fit in here? It’s not baseball talk. What is it? He does a lot of “Taunting”, and UConn specifically said that’s a no-no. Swooped in here and made show of it.
I don’t think Burleson is the “Whipping Boy”
Shady trolled ~ “I feel it’s fair to mention that the team, collectively, is off to a slow start offensively. Why nitpick?”
you spent 14 of 16 pages over-hyping Burleson, ignoring his issues and lack of MLB production. You have to take the criticism with how you trolled in this OP. A real man would take it. Own it.

March 29, 2024 at 10:01 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2024 Game #2 thread – at Dodgers, Friday, March 29 #245470on a serious note. I’m all for asking Goldschmidt and Nado to waive their NTC’s and get what you can for them from some contender. Play the young guys, hire a veteran manager the rest of the year to Coach them, help them mature. Then hire whatever YES Man Putz you want in the offseason. As long as Mo is still here, we’ll never get a good Manager for a full season.
