We were talking production, of Feddee.

His salary? He’s about there with Edman and Helsley. If we don’t need those two, might as well dump Feede too.

Eddie and Helsey are a bit more replaceable IMO. We need someone who can give us some starter innings until July 31.

Ok, but for me, sell now on Fedde. Don’t wait. Pick the next laundry list guy on the farm, start him.

Maybe Mo will give the starts to Pallante and the cluster of top level prospects. Roby, Robberse, Kloffenstein, Graceffo, McGreevy, Rom, Thompson, Liberatore, with Bedell, Hence, Hjerpe, and Mathews as mid season renforcements. Unless all that is mostly smoke and mirrors.

I’m reasonably certain that some of the more astute and elite baseball minds on here have noticed that Fedde rhymes with Eddie…

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m ready for this WS to get underway. This week long wait has been as bad as the AS break with no baseball. I ought to be used to it by now, but by the time mid Jan. arrives, I’m normally trying to schedule an appt. with a therapist…Then, it’s on to the chiropracter after I’ve wrenched another vertebrae whilst clearing the driveway after the most recent blizzard. I hate winter.

You and your boy(Eddie) are having one whale of a post-season, GameCard. Edman is one of those players whom is almost impossible to root against. I wish we still had him. Geesh, it hasn’t been that long, but for the life of me I can’t recall what we received in return for Tommy? It can’t be much unfortunately.

We got Pham and Fedde. And as I mentioned earlier in this thread, Fedde rhymes with Eddie.

According to an article on a Dodger team web-site, when the Dodgers aquired Tommy Edman at the end of July, they got a call from a former Dodger player who told them, “You’re going to love this guy because he’s a baseball player. He can hit from both sides of the plate, he’s shown some power, he can play SS, 2B and CF. He’s fundamentally sound, he makes the routine play, he knows how to run the bases, he can bunt, he can hit and run, and he’s got the talent to be on a championship-calibre team and to win a WS.”

The former Dodger player player who made the call was future first ballot HOF’er Albert Pujols. If the great Albert Pujols says Tommy Edman has the talent to win a WS, I believe him…

Why did the Dodgers see something the Cardinals didn’t? Again, the Cardinals were just stupid to trade Eddie.

Why do you think the Cardinals did/do not think Edman is a good player? I don’t understand. Teams have to trade quality to get quality.

I guess I going to replace Eddie with Thomas Saggese.

The Dodgers are not doing a rebuild (excuse me a “reset”). The Cardinals are. That is one reason.

The Cardinals do not need to rebuild. Just win.

Bill DeWitt apparently thinks otherwise. 2025 and 2026 are going to be lean in the W-L department but hopefully we get things straightend out during that time.

Keep your pencil sharp GameCard. There’s a winters worth of Mo transactions to be shredded in lengthy detail.

Edman was traded because the Cardinals do not pay post arb premium money for a complementary bat type, however good. They might pick up something cheap to fill a hole, but that’s it. I really don’t understand leaving themselves without a legit center fielder though. That was stupid.

This FO has earned it. But you are right, why bother? It simply wont matter. Thanks.

Agreed. I stay out of the Tommy squabble. I see both sides. He was a great addition to a good roster. We don’t have that.

Tommie Edman, MVP for the pennant series for the Dodgers. What an honor that is to him. I was so happy for him. Not a flashy, high paid player. I lift my glass in tribute to Tommie.
