I don’t worry too much about the run differential. Baseball has always been about pitching and defense and it always will be because those two elements are less likely to go in a slump as offense.

I always loved lower scoring, well played games. That’s not winning good enough for some I guess.

Yeah, for all of the glitz and glory of game 6 of the ’11 WS, it was in reality a very sloppily played game by both teams, while game 5 of the ’11 NLDS and game 7 of the ’06 NLCS were both low scoring, well played and tightly contested elimination games that were just as heart pounding as was that ’11 WS game. A 1-0 elimination game is definitely not for the squeamish…Haha!

That was placed right in his wheelhouse for the 3 run HR.

Had a feeling this would be a clunker for Lynn. He may not make it to the 5th.

Lefties are teeing off like it’s batting practice. 4-0

They just flashed a clip of a Carlson HR against the Nats in June of ’23. They have to go back more than a year find a highlight.

Lynn working on the perfect game…I don’t think he’s missed the barrel of the bat.

Haha 1TD he is hitting those bats really well. I wonder if Liberatore pitches a few innings today as Lynn’s pitch count is climbing fast.

The Nats are going to have a really good OF for the next few years. Crews, Young, and Wood. All 3 are good CF defenders so Crews and Wood in the corners will be great. And wow I’m typing that and Wood hits his 1st career bomb.

Lance wants to reclaim his title of highest HR/9 for the season.

At least we won’t have to debate whether Helsley is used today or not. Looks like a good game to use Gallegos.

It also appears that today’s game will further skew the run differential. It only counts as one loss in the standings though.

This game’s an ambush a massacre and a humiliation all rolled into one. Add in a trouncing and it’s a 4 for 1 sale.

The prototypical season scores continue – we win close and lose big. Thankfully I have not been watching – way too nice out to sit in front of the tube. The Nats have done me a favor, but if later I read of a miraculous comeback and a 12-11 Cardinal win I will be upset, but can watch the condensed game later or tomorrow morning at breakfast.

Gorman with another poor AB and a K to kill it at a 5 run game.

With the way Lynn is pitching we’re going to need a bakers dozen to win

Looks like DC found a nice player with the Wood youngster.

Get the bat on the ball. Anything but a strike out. If the ball is in plsy there is a chance. You can’t hide a 37% K rate.

They got Abrams, Gore, and Wood in the Juan Soto deal. As much as it sucks to trade Soto, their haul appears to be doing well. They also got Hassell and Susana who are still in the minors.

2 and 2/3rds innings for Lynn. That just is not going to cut it for a SP and he couldn’t even tough it out with a short pen to at least get 4 or 5.

Lynn’s ERA went from 3.58 entering the day all the way up to 4.48. Almost a full run in a single day with 90 innings on the year. That is a hard task to do but Lynn did it.

I just turned it on. Ugh. What a terrible, awful start. Now we have to waste the pen.

Lol 1td. There’s a limit to what chipping away can do. I think we have to chunk away today.
