2-0 Birds your final. Game balls to Lynn and Pedro…..with tips of the cap to JoJo and Helsley…..and maybe even a little wink in Kitty’s direction.

Agreed with having high hopes for Gorman. It all comes down to plate disciple for him and he really needs to be more patient and wait for his pitch. He seems to be making up his mind before the pitch to swing.

I’m not going to whine after a win! But nap time is already here.

Counting the game at Rickman, that’s a 7-3 homestand. Can’t complain too much about that.

Well a typical 2024 Cardinal series – outscored 20-11 in four games, but manage a split.

Yeah Albert, at 30, he’s collected 5 more saves than anyone else in either league.

The Cardinals typically win close low scoring games because of their improved pitching over last year. If you win four games a week with a score of 2-1 but then lose two games a week 8-1 the run differential will be negative but the W-L record will be positive.

Real nice pitching line for “The Bavarian Bismark Beast”…He allows only 2 hits and 0 runs in 6 innings of work to earn the W.

That’s entirely true, gscottar, but baseball more than any other game is one that’s subject to the law of averages and eventually that run differential will average out.

I have been complaining that Gorman can’t hit for a long time, but it is pointless.

Yeah, you have, Bling. He can hit, he just can’t make contact…

Bling – In all fairness to the Cardinals – assuming they do listen to you – you complain about the pitching, hitting, defense, development, lineup construction, trades, signings, management, and coaching. So for them, it might be difficult to determine which complaint should rise to the top.

Haha!…What makes baseball so great it that a fan has a perfect right to complain about anything and everything…And at the end of the day, none of what I complain about is at all important in the grand scheme of things.

I just look at the postseason results over the last ten years. and the current state of the roster and the system, and state the obvious. Every aspect of the operation deserves criticism. They cannot field one homegrown starter or one homegrown middle of the order bat for crying out loud.

I think giving Gorman some ribs time in Memphis is a great idea Pugs and return Edman to 2b when he gets back, leave Siani in CF and let Carlson get his ABs at DH.

Obviously, Lynn pitched like an “Ace” today. Much different than Gray’s last start. Bravo Lance Lynn.

Two shutouts in the series usually means a good result. In this one it ends up a split…which is acceptable given the previous results.

So out of 77 games played the cardinals have scored 4 runs or less 52 times only the Marlins have scored less runs in the NL

    Who will have the most?

Will Judge have more homeruns than Helsley will have saves?

I’d say it will be close.

I’m happy to see Shady tagging LL with the “Ace” title after Lance’s nice turn today. Shady obviously has a knack for spotting talent as witnessed by his early season projections regarding Burleson, so I’m looking for some terrific performances from Lance. In any case, an ace needs a nickname…I’m proposing from this point forward that big Lance be known as “The Bavarian Bismark Beast.” He’s amped for the second half stretch run!

1td, I can’t recall Lynn ever being better for the Cardinals than he was today. The problem with some of these older starters is consistency. As evidenced recently with Gray, Gibson and Mikolas.

That gave me a chuckle. Not for being untrue mind you, it is true. But their greater consistency, relative to the younger pitchers that we’ve been trying the last couple years, has been a godsend.

Yeah, he showcased 6 innings of nice work in today’s turn. I’m not sure about the three you named, but Lynn seems to do really well as long as he’s fortified with plenty of those custard filled, chocolate iced Bavarian Bismarks…Haha! He gets dialed in and amped up on those things…
