Since the game was a blowout last night I turned over to CNN to watch the debate. Biden was Biden – sometimes you wonder if he knows where he’s at, kinda unsure of himself. And Trump was Trump – on the warpath and twisting things around.

Hopefully Pallante turns in a good performance tonight. We could use six strong innings from him. I am calling this one 6-3 Redbirds with Goldschmidt getting off the schneid with a big dong.

And now it’s CCFF! Cardinal Catfish Fiddler Friday! Out to the Amish restaurant is where I am headed.

I didn’t watch, Rat, but my 18 year old grandson did. He was not impressed. When I said I guess that is the best we can put up there, he said its just what the political system poops out for us to pick through. I thought that was something from the young generation.

It seems important for us not to get blown out again or play poorly. I’m not sure what it takes to knock the wind out this team but hopefully its takes more than last night.

They could really generate some interest and improve ratings if they’d simply battle it out in a cage fight. People grow weary of cheap talk. Let’s see these two self proclaimed tough guys come to blows…

I will be careful not to go too far down the political rabbit hole but I did watch the first 15 minutes of that spectacle last night before changing the channel back to the Cardinal game, which wasn’t any more pleasing to watch. All I will say it is that is a sad state of affairs when these two clowns are the best we have to choose from. What a joke.

As for baseball hopefully the Redbirds can get back on the W side. Pallante has been very hit or miss this year. Here is to hoping that the death ball is on tonight. We are a better team than the Reds but we have to show it on the field.

The Brewers are hosting the Cubs this weekend. Yes I know that we are chasing the Brewers but I still hope they sweep the Cubbies. Sorry I can’t help myself. My dislike of the Cubs knows no bounds.

I’m very excited for Noot to come back and take RF. Burly goes to DH and Carp goes to a bench warming leader role with PH duties thrown in. Significantly better defense and offense at that point.

One things for sure. If I walked in a room that Don Trump and Joe Biden were in, I would have both hands on my waĺlet.

The other possibility is Noot takes CF from Siani. I would hate to see that but it solves the problem of keeping the hot hitting Burleson in the everyday lineup without moving to a dedicated DH, which we know they do not favor.

I hope Pallante puts in a better performance than the dud Mikolas threw last night. I was at the game, and without any radio or TV commentary, and it appeared Marmol conceded the loss when he left Mikolas in at 5-0. Probably saving bullpen arms for next few games. I left after 6 innings with no regrets.

I wish Graceffo got the start, with Pallante ready to follow if necessary. I know debuting at home is stressful enough without being the starter, but sometimes you have to man up.

Me too with Graceffo, Bling. I thought it was a move they were going to make. And I’m with you Scotty, with rooting for Milwaukee to lambaste the cubbies. Let’s call this one 7-4 St.Louis shall we. Din-din tonight was wild jumbo shrimp cocktail, broiled cod, small salad and 3 Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies. And I know I’m not the only Cardinal Nation poster whom is anxiously awaiting to see how Rat’s catfish fiddler din-din went today at his Amish restaurant. From an adrenaline standpoint, it’s not all that unlike having our Cardinals leading the cubbies 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th at Wrigley……bases loaded with 2 out and it’s Helsley facing Happ.

Nice stagger. I’d have flipped Carp and Gorman, but of who he is starting, this is close enough for me.

What’s the word on the 24 yr. old RHP’er named Graceffo? Is he a SP’er or are the Cardinals planning on using him out of the BP? Are they even sure how they plan to use him? Also, is anyone else getting the impression that the Cardinals are near to waving the white flag on Matz?

Word is, GS couldn’t have been more right about Matz, at his signing and since.

What about Graceffo? Best I can tell, at 24 years of age he’s never filled a role out of a BP. I’m wondering how they plan to use him in the Big Leagues. Maybe the Cardinal brass is just as confused as I am. If that’s indeed the case, they’re in trouble…

Graceffo is a starting pitcher, they are planning to use him out of the bullpen during his callup.

    Matz to 60 day IL.

Turns out Matz contract is no threat to Pallantes’ starts. Gift wrapped opportunity.

    Pugs?

The Catfish Fiddlers were not the best today. I think they were cooked/fried just a little too long. But the potatoes and green beans were really good. And Emily was my waitress. She’s an Amish gal but she is really smoking hot!

Hmmmmm……don’t Amish gals like older men?

Well, after reading a couple of sketchy articles I’m guessing the Cardinals don’t have any better of an idea about Graceffo’s role on the Big League team than I do. They’ll probably yo-yo him around in a similar manner as they’ve done with Liberatore.

1TD – I’d expect him to pitch on the back end of Pallante’s start today and then get sent down and swapped for Roycroft or Loutos. Maybe something like 2 or 3 innings. Just a get your feet wet cameo.

I would have preferred Graceffo to get the start as well. At least he is getting an opportunity and his stuff will play up in the pen.
