jj-cf-stlParticipantAtta-boy Carp. Twice now he’s tried to start a rally.
June 8, 2024 at 5:22 pm #255560The pen will be getting worn down because of all the short starts. Especially a 34 year old guy.
June 8, 2024 at 5:25 pm #255561I think it’s more just 3 guys who are worn down because 80% of our games are super close. The other guys are fresh enough.
June 8, 2024 at 5:28 pm #255562Fresh is good, but effective’s better.
June 8, 2024 at 5:29 pm #255563
jj-cf-stlParticipantFair enough J. At least we are getting a large pre-deadline IP from them. Who knows where they spend their second half.
June 8, 2024 at 5:36 pm #255564Fermin has to play the outfield now. No other options.
June 8, 2024 at 5:37 pm #255565Well, no other reasonable options. I can’t remember Fermin playing much outfield in Memphis.
June 8, 2024 at 5:45 pm #255566Donovan gives us a chance with the 1 out double.
June 8, 2024 at 5:46 pm #255567Man alive…Herrera hit it right on the screws, but right at the LF’er.
June 8, 2024 at 5:50 pm #255568Well people, that just about does it. Not going to win a home series from the lowly Rockies. Time for managementto be seriously discussing sell options. Wait ‘til next year.
June 8, 2024 at 5:50 pm #255569Pitiful, just pitiful! They tried everything they could to give it to us and we still can’t win!
June 8, 2024 at 5:52 pm #255570That’s, that…Meanwhile, the Reds win their 7th in a row and move into 2nd place in the NLC with a 4-3 W over the Cubs.
June 8, 2024 at 5:53 pm #255571Three observations. It won’t happen, but when Contreras gets back in the lineup, neither Goldschmidt or Arenado should bat higher than #6 in the lineup against RHP. Second, be careful about taking Burleson out of a close game with the lead late when he could bat again in a pressure situation late. Burly’s not that bad defensively and he’s a helluva a threat at the plate. And Roycroft is pitching his way into some high leverage relief opportunities.
June 8, 2024 at 5:54 pm #255573Back in last place. Awesome.
June 8, 2024 at 5:58 pm #255574Well, the Cardinals managed only 3 RBI’s in today’s game and Goldschmidt and Arenado were responsible for 2 of them, Shady.
June 8, 2024 at 5:59 pm #255575Losing 2 of 3 at home to the Rockies, we deserve last place. If it goes to 3 of 4 tomorrow, just bulldoze Busch into the river.
June 8, 2024 at 6:01 pm #255576Haha…I never did like Busch lll.
June 8, 2024 at 6:03 pm #255577Lol. It’s just how mediocre teams go. They can be up for a week and then follow it up with a losing stretch that exceeds the short winning streak. They are what we thought they were.
June 8, 2024 at 6:06 pm #255579Yep we’ve crumpled again! I say trade anyone we can get a decent prospect for and move on! Anyone we put at 1st and 3rd can do as well as what we have there now! I know losing Helsley will hurt and I don’t like it but he would be our biggest chip! I’d trade Gray too if we got a top 25 prospect! We need to cut bait and move on!
June 8, 2024 at 6:25 pm #255581Ugh – this ain’t good fellas….
June 8, 2024 at 6:26 pm #255583Dismal looking loss with the bats managing only 2 hits against a SP’er with and ERA a little under 6.00, but the worst part is, as Steve60 mentioned, the Rockies played like the lousy team that they are and handed the Cardinals 4 unearned runs and we still couldn’t walk away with a W.
June 8, 2024 at 6:37 pm #255585With the Pirates and Reds winning, the Cardinals are once again in last place.
June 8, 2024 at 6:41 pm #255586I think we can maintain last place with a bunch of youngsters! Let’s get busy finding out!
June 8, 2024 at 6:49 pm #255587Haha…I never did like Busch lll.

Hated it from the first time I walked in. Stopped walking for a moment to take a look around and within seconds some smart azz usher came up and told me to keep moving. It wasn’t crowded and I wasn’t blocking anyone. As soon as you leave your seats and walk to the concession area, you are done watching baseball. You are trapped like a rat in their other money making adventures, souvenirs etc. I used to go to 1 game per series on the homestands. Not anymore.
June 8, 2024 at 7:03 pm #255592Yeah, it’s horrible. Less than zero character or flavor. Too many drawbacks to mention here, but a couple at the top of the list are that the music blaring from the PA system between innings is not only loud enough to give a woodpecker a headache, but is also of the variety that would make one wish he were never born with ears…The seat police are everywhere and seem to be intent on being as inhospitable as is allowed by law. In my view the entire experience is not anything close to what I would call a pleasant one.
