BOCfan, actually, I was just seeking some opinions. You’re right, Burly needs some of those hard hit balls to find holes or the seats.

    BABIP: .317
    BA: .289
    xBA: .281

The notion that he has somehow been a victim of bad luck on “hard hit balls” this year is baseless.

I haven’t heard but am guessing Noot is out w/a hammy concern. Carpenter is winning playing time over Carlson. Crawford hasn’t started since May 19th.

RBK, man, you can’t diss Burly and myself enough, can you? No biggie with me. But Burleson is an integral part of the lineup/team, right now. Whether you acknowledge it or not.

Mikolas/Nola and the first place Phillies looks like a mismatch, but our friend Wooster pointed out that the game of baseball itself tends to even things out and, I think more than any other team sport, is affected by the law of averages over the course of 162 games. It’s a real simple formula…If the Cardinals play well, they’ll probably win…And yeah, Wooster, I haven’t seen the spectacular “Gyro-Copter” in quite some time…Haha!

Nope, it’s an oblique strain. He was placed on IL retroactive to yesterday.

I’ll bet the Phillies would be really interested if Johnny offered up Burleson for Nola…The Phillie fans would see Burly as the second coming of Kruk…They’d love Burly in the city of brotherly love!

Mismatch on paper Dom, but we may be getting Mikolas best right now, so it has looked worse.

Of his last 5 GS, Miles has 3 QS of the 6IP / 3 ER variety and a 5 IP / 1 ER to go along with one clunker.

    Shady,

It is you that interjects Burleson into every conversation. It becomes exhausting for others.

Forget Nola, the Cardinals would have to demand Wheeler or Suarez in that deal . . .

LACardFan, why can’t you and other hyper-sensitive posters just ignore my posts then? Problem solved. I’m a huge Burleson fan, so what?

You can rest fully assured they’ll send a car for Walker some time before June 6th which happens to be, “Jordan Skywalker Bobblehead Night.”

The problem will be solved when you realize this is a team sport and Burleson is not carrying the team on his back.

LACardfan, maybe not. But Burleson has come through, big-time, since Contreras has been out. He’s been a huge part of the Cardinals resurgence. Agree?

As much as I like Noot in the lineup, he’s year to year for me, right thru arb, as they did w/O’Neil.

I like to kid around regarding Burleson, but the mathematical facts are that from May 12th until today he’s gone 20 for 55. During the stretch of games between those dates the Cardinals have compiled a W/L record of 12-3. Before too long, he’ll need an XL red jacket…Haha!

Burly had our 3rd best ops+ the first month. He’s 5th best this month, with a game to go. A top 5 bat in any lineup is intregal. Next month is TBD.

Yeah, he’s collected quite a few base hits in that stretch and has also scored 9 runs, but any sort of power production has left a lot to be desired. The TB’s and RBI’s are scant.

    Edmundo Sosa has a 167 OPS+ after 57 games.

Proceed with caution with small sample sizes.

Burly only put up a 105 or 106 the first month. Third is based on the lineup being that bad. When fifth, Gorman and Noot passed him. Context is this season, being discussed.

Oli went back to a stagger, 2 thru 8, and he knows he can flip Donny and Winn at leadoff.
