Nice catch by Burly over near the left field stands. If we end up winning this game, Burly is the odds on favorite thus far to be the happy recipient of the game ball. He’s okay, TD…..if that had been Carlson, we’d be looking at another long stint on the DL.

Goldy with the leadoff walk. Arenado needs to keep it going here.

2-0 on Arenado and he swings at one over his head…..almost feels like we’re dealing with raw rookies with some of our vets this year……and of course he ends up striking out.

Yeah, Goldschmidt’s been the primary misfire in this offense, but I’ve been real disappointed in Arenado as well.

Canning has a nice move to 1B.

Siani should bunt more….looks like he’s good at it.

He sure does. That was a nice play by Canning to field that bunt and get the out.

I thought for sure Siani was going to get a hit out of that. Good job by Canning though to field it.

Canning has a nice move to 1B.

And a nice play to rob Siani of a bunt single. I think Canning won a GG in 2020.

Cards don’t score again. Still 4-0 Angels heading to the bottom of the 5th.

Just thinking…..have we swept anyone this year?

Lynn at 106 pitches as we move to the 6th in a 4-0 Los Angeles ballgame. Who’s up next…..Fernandez?

Wow. Lynn pulled a couple of Houdini acts after the disastrous first inning.

Lance at 106 pitches through 5. He’s got at least 2 more innings left in him, right?

Thanks Jnevel….thought that might be the case but wasn’t sure.

Burleson bats third in the 6th inning. He’s 5 for 15 in his last 5 games. Did he finally find his hitting mojo?

I think we get a Roycroft sighting next unless we score at least 2 runs.

Goldy ramrods a long one to right….4-1 now as we’re creeping closer. Hey Mud!

With that homerun, Goldschmidt gets his OPS above Siani’s!!!

Goldy! Maybe since his April and mid May was so bad, his summer months will be extra good. He has always been a slow starter, but this year just looked different for him with so many bad swing decisions. Still some in this game too though

Never any good to spot a team 4 runs in the 1st inning, but I have to give Lynn some credit for scuffling through 5 innings of work and keeping the deficit at 4. He battles.

Yeah, Matz would’ve thrown in the towel pitching as bad as Lynn was tonight.

Burly nearly had himself a hit there if Moniak wasn’t hustling over to bail out Ward in left who lost the high fly in the lights.

Probably Cy Canning’s last inning too as he approaches the 100 pitch mark. Even though he’s fared well tonight, he’s one pitcher I don’t want to see exit. We should have roughed him up tonight.

I bet Angels skipper Ron Washington still sees red after the way our Cardinals came back to beat his Rangers in the ’11 world series.

I watched Washington’s press conference after the game last night. He got real snappy and a bit hot answering questions about the suicide squeeze snafu. It was a real laugher at the time, and then again when the Angels TV guys later commented on the exchange. Washington made our guy Oli look a charming media whisperer.
