Siani’s batting average is now higher than Gorman’s. This team might have won another game or two or ? if Oli had kept Siani on the team instead of going with the Scott experiment, although giving Scott a chance was wildly popular at the time.

Siani is outfitting two of the lineup regulars.

Goldy failed. So now rule 5 guy has a chance to shine in the 10th.

Well, the ghost runner scored, so rule 5 guy didn’t shine.

Cards load the bases with nobody out in the last of the 10th. And it starts pouring.

    Nootbaar strikes out.
    Winn strikes out.
    Gorman with a 1-1 count.
Rain delay, tarp on the field. Not going to last too long.

Strikeouts, strikeouts, strikeouts. Everybody just wants to slug it out there. All they needed is some contact. This crap is hard to watch.

Game not over yet as I type this……..

Prior to the strike outs, Burleson failed to accomplish anything other than set up a force out at home and everywhere else. Probably hit it to the worst possible place with 1st and 3rd and nobody out, down by one in the bottom of the 10th.

    Great, just great.

Now while we are waiting for Gorman to end the game with another strikeout there is also a rain delay in Cincinnati.

I think I will go and check some more YouTube videos on the Polaris Slingshot. I might talk myself into buying one.

Man, sacks full and no outs. I might have had Noot work the squeeze to get at least the game tied, plus who knows what might have happened. Then you set up the winning run at third with one out. Now it could fail and we run ourselves out of an inning, but small ball is something I would emphasize in extras with the ghost runner rule.

Watching Nootbar and Gorman swing is depressing! Nootbar can’t hit the ball out of the infield and Gorman can’t hit the ball at all! Along with Walker those three have totally disabled our line up! I will say till the day I die it’s coaching! These 3 will go somewhere else and be stars! It just happens to often to be coincidence! Player development for us has been totally lost!

The squeeze would be tougher with a potential force out at home. Burleson could have tried it with 1st and 3rd and nobody out.

Yeah, Bikemike, it’ll be well deserved if they take a loss after bases jammed and no outs and nothing to show but the 2 K’s before the delay. Takes a 2 out base hit from Gorman now if we ever get under way. Smoke and sparks would emit from the polygraph if I said I was real confident…

Steve, I think since Shildt got canned, we can assume all of the coaches are doing exactly what the script says they should do. Replacing any of them with a clone would not help. I think it is a flawed development system. There is a certain sameness to the career trajectory of the players coming up in recent years.

Yeah, I love the squeeze play, but never with the bases jammed. Too much of a chance for a GIDP and with no outs a triple play isn’t out of the question. Too dangerous.

Bling, totally agree! I believe we will not compete again until we basically get rid of the whole group and start over from scratch! And I’m talking coaches and those above them, not players!

    Winn got 4 strikes, lol

This may play right into the Cardinals hands as the Sox will not be able to send their pitcher back out.

I figure we get a hit to win 7-6 then beat the pants off of them tomorrow to take the series and crawl back to within a game of .500
