“Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?…”

Seriously, he is stuck with Matz and he knows it, so he has to make the best of a tough situation. Last time out, some fans were critical that Matz was pulled before he could work his own way out of trouble. Now that they got what they wanted, those folks are quiet this time around.

Pretty hard to pin this loss on Marmol.

If it had really been “only one bad pitch”…

    Matz and Marmol are delusional

Miserable night as both my Cardinals and Bucks got pasted. Thank God it’s not football season too, where a TT (Terrible Trifecta) could have occurred, with my Packers getting drilled by double digits. Could you imagine that? All 3 of your favorite major sports teams suffering double digit setbacks on the same day?

No, but seriously folks, these guys ARE really good. Don’t believe what you are seeing every day or what the standings may be indicating, just listen to what cousin Ollie tells you after each game. He’s got enough lipstick for half a dozen pigs.

This morning I listened to the audio from Marmol’s post game. I actually spit coffee all over my keyboard and got it up in my sinuses. My wife thought I was having some kind of attack. FYI the audio of the presser is available next morning on Rob Rains site. It’s like he was somewhere else at a different game.

Goat = Matz w/a GmSc of 24. That’s on you Steven, own it. 24 batters and 7 ER.

D was good and lineup stunk overall, but you shouldn’t expect the lineup to rescue 7 ER allowed.

It’s like a re-do of Jamie Garcia. The meltdown is coming, so prepare for it. Matz is looking like a piggyback opener.

The problem is, we don’t know which inning Matz is going to have a meltdown, we just know he will. Could be in the first, could be in the fourth.

15 batters and warm someone. Sometimes he will give you a loss by then, like last night, but typically he can get through the lineup twice and give us a chance.

He doesn’t appear to have the stuff to go past 18 batters. He gets beat up.
