Haha…Yeah, and he won’t even get tagged with the L.

That will teach us to hope for a winning streak.

Now that is an ugly stat line! This game will really do some damage to the run differential. But it is only one loss. Maybe they will use up all their offense tonight and we can sneak away with a 2-1 win in the finale.

    Good Lord.

    Will we see Burleson pitch?

    Goldschmidt with 3K’s tonight.

Guess he is next in line for a two game benching.

This is the Zack Thompson I remember watching at AAA. Last year he was terrible for a long time. Lots of games like this. Then he got called up because there was no one else and suddenly he was good. It was remarkable. But tonight is why I didn’t put him in any of the Cards’ future rotations. This is why when he was a prospect I was always sticking him in the late teens at best. He can strike people out. And sometimes he can be effective. But he melts down quickly and can easily become wild. I’m just not sure what to do with him. I do not trust the pitcher that he is.

If they bench him tomorrow and Friday, he will have 3 days off to clear his head.

LOL. The other day, Thompson gave up 3 runs in 2/3 of an inning. Today, he gave up 3 runs in 1/3 of an inning.

He’s getting more efficient with his outings. Cutting right to the chase on giving up runs.

Thompson was not a good pitcher in college. I am not sure how he was chosen in the first round. People blamed his college results on his injury history. But he was just bad.

Oh man, they are bringing Thompson back out…

Thompson also allowed at least two inherited runners to score tonight.

They have to stick with Thompson. No reason to waste other arms until the 9th if they can.

I was going to post something after we got swept and wanted to wait a day. So we get the walk off. Then everyone is giddy and saying “what a win” or whatever. Now this debacle happens. I usually wait until May 15th and still will before freakout more but it feels like the Suckiness of 2023 all over again.

You now have 3 starters with an ERA over 5. Thompson may need to be sent down but idk who else would replace him. Can’t bring Pallante back because he’s just been sent down and sucked. Idk

Yeah we have injuries but it’s not like we have some lights out bullpen guys coming back or a starter and what we do have coming back for offense isn’t exactly great.

I can understand Arizona’s 14 points on the two touchdowns and XPs. But I don’t see how we have one point. Did we almost get a safety, tackling the guy at the one foot line and they decided to give us a point for a nice try? 😀

I think we’re starting to see that last season may only be the opening act of the circus.

We participated, but did not compete. Wonder if Ollie thinks this will help us in September?

Don’t give too much credit to Robertson. Garbage time doesn’t mean much.

The Cardinals had 7 different players in this game that were at one point hitting below .200 (the Mendoza line) take an At Bat

Donovan got a hit to get above 200 but was below it coming in

Walker, Pages, Crawford, Siani, Goldschmidt and Gorman are all still below .200

I can’t think that has happened a lot 20 plus games into a season

Pages really hasn’t had much of a chance to hit has he? This might be his 2nd or 3rd game played.

All I know is Oli can’t afford to throw out a mail it in Marmol lineup. Then again it feels like a Sunday lineup Everytime we play. Lol

Does Walker need to go back to AAA for a month or so?

His BA is microscopic and he has no power.

Walker has been flying out his lead hip…Eduardo Perez pointed it out in the dodger series…still not fixed like 20 games later

Walker’s hip has been flying open all year! Why hasn’t it been fixed? Anyone can see it! I’ll say it again, our player development stinks! He need to straighten his front foot, take it out of the bucket and he will start to hit! Why can’t they fix this? Does he have to be traded so another organization will fix it! Just makes no sense at all!

Donovan was at .202 coming in. After his first two PAs he was at .198.

Does Walker need to go back to AAA for a month or so?

It doesn’t matter because there is no one to bring up to replace him and we are too thin in OF to lose one.

Anyone including him. I’m sure he’s seen the tape. A good question to ask would be why is his hip flying open now when it wasn’t when he was hitting .300 in the minors?

And why does Logan Allen get credited with a save when he came in leading 14-1?
