jj-cf-stlParticipantHes making a strong case.
April 14, 2024 at 3:35 pm #247953How many times can one team fail to come through in the clutch? It’s just pitiful!
April 14, 2024 at 3:35 pm #247954
jj-cf-stlParticipantK and a groundout. We are not cashing in, just like yesterday.
April 14, 2024 at 3:37 pm #247955When you’re sending up Crawford and Siani you can’t really complain about nothing good happening. Lucky for us a loss in April doesn’t count as much as a loss in September.
April 14, 2024 at 3:39 pm #247956Shame to come away empty, but Gallen with the near perfect 3-2 knee high fastball to Crawford for the bases jammed called strike 3. I thought he may let up on Siani, but he’s too good of a pitcher.

jj-cf-stlParticipantEdman looks pretty darn good at #9 once someone else comes in.
April 14, 2024 at 3:43 pm #247958Not only do April losses not count as much as losses in September, but the Redbird manager also knows that all these losses in April will undoubtedly help the team play better in September…”I’ll tell you that!”
April 14, 2024 at 3:45 pm #247959Leadoff BB’s should come around to cross HP.
April 14, 2024 at 3:49 pm #247960Erased with the GIDP. Gallen got away with a bad mistake on that 2-2 hanger to Goldschmidt.
April 14, 2024 at 3:50 pm #247961Goldschmidt needed to do anything except ground it to the left side. If he’d gotten the runner to second, Gorman’s hit might have meant a run.
April 14, 2024 at 3:56 pm #247963I’m really sick of underperforming veterans that you can’t move down in the order for fear you will hurt their feelings and they will pout.
April 14, 2024 at 4:00 pm #247964I’m sick of anybody barely hitting his weight who won’t bunt a runner over to second when we need a run. And sick of a manager who won’t tell them to do it.
April 14, 2024 at 4:10 pm #247965Just arrived back to the domicile after spending 24 hours in the beautiful little town of Boulder Junction. Gallen can be hit…….he’s not the second coming of Lefty McGraw.
April 14, 2024 at 4:15 pm #247966Cardinals have 2 leadoff doubles today, Pugs. Just can’t push a run across.
April 14, 2024 at 4:15 pm #247967Siani…..Scott…..Winn…..I don’t think there’s another team with a faster trio.
April 14, 2024 at 4:17 pm #247968Thanks TD……I’ll have to quickly review matters so I can get a good beed on how this game is trending. Need this game, as we should have swept these guys.

jj-cf-stlParticipantA line-out from Goldy sadly feels like a victory
April 14, 2024 at 4:22 pm #247970Very good effort by Mikolas in danger of being wasted.
April 14, 2024 at 4:27 pm #247971Holy cow the DBs with a sac fly? I hope we wrote that down.
April 14, 2024 at 4:29 pm #247972Springfield now 9-0. They came back from being down 4 runs in the 8th and scored 5 and held on in the 9th.
In general, minor league pitching wasn’t as good today. Of course, this was Victor Santos day at Memphis so that hasn’t worked out well on any of his attempts. I think he’ll be in the BP soon. Pete Hansen also struggled some today in Peoria. Also of note, Kyle Leahy finally gave up a run (2 of them) and Josh James finally didn’t.

jj-cf-stlParticipantWell, 3rd time thru for them and it’s HiLev
April 14, 2024 at 4:32 pm #247974This team is starting to smell a lot like the 2023 team! If we can’t beat the A’s the next three games it might be time to break out the “Wait till next year” cry!
April 14, 2024 at 4:32 pm #247975
jj-cf-stlParticipantsacks full
April 14, 2024 at 4:34 pm #247976According to Gameday, 3 of the 4 pitches from Mikolas were in the strike zone to Marte, but all 4 called balls.
April 14, 2024 at 4:35 pm #247977Pallante? Good way to give away any slim chance we had in this one.
