Yeah, but at only 57 RBI’s, them 21 taters haven’t pushed across any runs to speak of. Obviously he’s been real good as a Cardinal as witnessed by a NL MVP and a nice mitt at 1B, but he’s simply no longer the sort of threat that an offense needs to consistently score runs.

I’ve been as frustrated with the lack of production from Goldy as anybody. With his recent resurgence, I expect for someone to take a chance and outbid the Cardinals for his services in 2025. As far as Goldy trying to fool anyone or make a last ditch effort for a payday, what complete nonsense.
I was surprised to see Fermin in the box score. I had so thoroughly forgotten he was on the team I had to go to the transactions on the Roster Matrix page to remind myself when he came up.

Agreed. To suggest that Goldschmidt is anything other than a pro’s pro seems foolish. Other than last year, has Goldy ever not been a guy who heats up through the summer? I think he’s working and making adjustments and they are finally working a bit. The floor is lower than it has been, but he’s still a solid player.
The Brewers only have 23 games left, not 33. So the losing streak is a bit more attainable. 😁
Another tip of the hat to Michael Siani in last night’s game. That was one crazy finish.
Wainwright had 4 quality starts last year. He won 5 games, struck out 55 batters. I was happy for him when he did well, the same as I’m happy to see Goldy doing well. But I’m not going to don my tinfoil hat and pretend like he’s not done. Give him the puppy dog this year and find another way to sell tickets in 2025.
So Goldschmidt turns it on for the final month of the season, just before he hits free agency. Must be a combination of practice, practice, practice, and just plain luck. What else could it be?
It’s true Goldy is running out of gas as his career winds down, but reports of his death, as samuel clemens put it, “are greatly exaggerated.”
It’s like Wainwright and his mechanics problem that all the coaches standing there watching him all year didn’t see. Goldy just had to fix whatever the invisible problem was now he’s good as new.
