ParticipantPersonally i think its time baker gets called up. I mean its time to see what he can do up here full time. Play him dh, i dont care. Im sorrybbut we shouldnt even be thinking of resigning goldy. Yea hes been great for us but he was well paid. We dont owe him a retirement contract. Let him see what he can get on the market. Lets give baker first base and run with it.

ParticipantThis series with the reds tells us a lot. Im not going to include last season cause we were horrible and basically became sellers. But going back before, there was one thing you could count on, beating the reds, pirates, and lots of times the cubs. Particularly after the all star break. Before that all those might play us good and suddenly people are thinking the pirates or reds may have something this year. But usually right around all star break reality set in and those teams fugured out it wasnt any different this year, maybe just took a bit longer to realize it. The cardinals would start raking in the wins. Forward to this season and these teams are still hopeful, havent realized anything yet and are chomping at the bit to play the cardinals. I dont know for sure but i dont think they are really better than before, the cardinals are just a lot worse.
August 15, 2024 at 2:55 am #264346I think Bling is wrong. They aren’t using analytics at all. Or maybe it’s just Marmol being the poor manager that he is.

August 15, 2024 at 3:37 am #264349I saw a clip, embedded in a Katie Woo tweet, of Walker launching one 420 feet for Memphis recently, and everybody getting excited. I watched it a couple times. That pitch was a meatball right down broadway if there ever was one. A classic minor league mistake. Center in, straight, flat, no life. A 50 year old guy in an old timers game could have launched it. Walker’s swing was a thing of beauty and he really put a hurt on it. He could probably hit that pitch out 7 or 8 times out of 10. He’s back! Call him up!
The other thing I was thinking is they could go ahead and take Scott off their top prospect list now. It ain’t happnin. Lots of guys look good in the Texas League. Its a mistake to get lathered up over it.
