Well it was fun while it lasted. Now I can hear flashbacks from 1970s Monday Night Football, when Don Meredith would sing, “Turn out the lights, the party’s over..”.

I wish I cared enough to go see if they are beating up on the same pitch, lol.

This lineup is unwatchable! Major changes needed to have a fighting chance next year! Walker hasn’t improved one bit! Shoulder still comes wide open, even on outside pitches! Left foot still in the bucket! He can’t and won’t hit major league pitching without drastic changes! Gorman is a lost cause! Strikes out 42% of the time, gotta be some sort or record! I don’t even know if things are fixable at this point!

This little three game series is a veritable mismatch. The Reds look like they’re playing nine cadavers. There’s not even a sign of a heartbeat on this team.

Throw a 4.2 inning start on the pile. It’s turning into last year all over again.

Lousy effort by the Red’s SS.

.500 baseball is certainly very frustrating.

You are teetering on the brink of falling out of the race with a bad run AND teetering on the brink of getting back in the race with a good run.

At this point, I’m willing to risk a rebuild as long as we get new leadership from Mo on down. We can’t very well fire the owner.

I’m willing to risk driving off the cliff for the chance of becoming the next Astros.

This has been a real bad series for the cardinals..its one thing to lose every game but to never really compete. But maybe getting embarrased is what this team needs. Im more talking about ownership but could be the players as well.

    Goldschmidt just struck out again.

    He is absolutely worthless.

I do NOT want him back under any circumstances.

Yeah Willie, it’s looking more and more like it’s time to scrap it. This one no longer looks to be serviceable.

wow, Walker popped out. I thought he would be great at pinch hitting, I’m sure he’s practiced coming off the bench cold. Not that that is a special skill that has to be developed or anything.

I realize that a lot of these guys are still young and impressionable, but I have to think that someone along the way would point out to them how ridiculous they look on a baseball diamond with a two or three loud and brassy gold chains hanging around their neck. Are they trying to get laid out there?

    Most likely.

He looks like a DH to me bling. Coming off the bench should be his norm.

My Dad’s theory was its mostly the ones who came up in threadbare circumstances and now they’ve got some folding money so they have to show that they do.

Yeah, I’d say say so too, KCB. The garish gold chain look tells me they’re out there on the field to be dancing a combination of the hustle and the disco duck.

If there is one thing Walker needs its an everyday routine. Rain or shine, lefty, righty, same slot in the lineup and preferably same guy batting before and after most of the time. He needs that structure and repetition. That is how a young hitters sees things, picks up patterns, figures things out. Don’t figure out anything getting bounced around every day a different look if you even play that day.

Yeah, I get that, Bling. But you’d think someone that they respect would sit them down and say something like, “Hey kid, only your friends will tell you when you look bad”…

Every time I check the score we’re losing by more.

And I guess Liby is the mop up guy now.

My problem with walker is he wasnt really killing it in the minors. To me a guy you call up from the minors is a guy hitting 350 with 25 homers not 257 and 9 homers. It doesnt feel like hes figured out weak pitching, not sure hes going to do well in majors.

Well you win and you can look however you want. You lose and people start to point out the peripheral stuff.

I remember Jim Bouton writing in ‘Ball Four‘ how the Pilots had a guy named Steve Hovley, who had his hair cut short to start the season and then just let it go. Once it started getting long manager Joe Schultz would get on his case. Then Hovley got hot and was hitting well, and Schultz never said anything. Bouton writes (I think this was it – been years since I last read the book), “Hitting over hair? Ridiculous.” 🙂

If this score holds we will have been outscored 19-4 in this series. That is a serious butt-kicking. That is like White Sox, Rockies, Marlins bad.
