Swings at a first pitch breaking ball at his shins. Got himself out.
It was at least a sac fly opp, so anything up is favored….

That bases loaded pitch selection by Arenado burns me.

And there’s the ball up, he could have waited for w/sacks full, in a sac fly opp.

Gray with another good start. Very similar to his last one.

Pham stranded out on 2nd in the 7th with a K by Goldy. It would be nice if the middle of the order would help out, even a little. They have done nothing at all tonight. It’s all been the top and bottom. All the runs, all the RBIs.

They used to manage gray to around 80 pitches. He went 106 tonight.

    Our 4 x-base hits are from batting #9, #1 and #2.

Goldschmidt has the 160th best WRC+ (out of 168 qualifying players) with runners in scoring position. He’s at 56. Gorman one behind him at 55.

    Arenado is 122nd at 93.

Gormans hands are lower. Scooping, if you will.

All you can do is hope this appearance turns out better than the last time Helsley was called on to save a game in which Gray was in line to be the winning pitcher of decision.

Thanks JJ. I hope Helsley can secure this one. It didn’t start well.

O my. Helsley induced much drama from the bottom of their order.

Great game by Gray and very exciting to see Scott get his 1st HR. He has been hitting much better the last week or so after adding a little bit of a leg kick. He said he had been reluctant to add the leg kick, but it is helping his timing.

I don’t want to post on the thread in discussion to avoid interfering by potentially breaking the loop. I’ve never seen a group that must thoroughly enjoy talking in circles as much as some of these posters. I’m curious how many pages the circular discussion can go.
