Yeah, it sure did. Maybe two. Almost looked like Keller worked around Contreras. I was hoping Donovan would make him pay. Almost did.
Pallante has now recorded 17 outs. Three by strikeout and 12 by groundout. He is a groundout machine.

Again, another start where in no way shape or form did Andre look to be dominating, but because he induces so many balls on the ground, he generally remains effective. I don’t know much, but I do know that balls on the ground have a zero percent chance of going over the outfield wall. Someone should let Lynn know that little secret.
Yeah, he’s been getting GB’s since his ’22 rookie season. He got a GB from Segura after the Cardinal manager left an injured pitcher in the game to load the bases in game 1 of the ’22 NLWC, but it bled through to the OF.
If you need a double play grounder, Andre should be choice numero uno with the game on the line. But yeah, some of those grounders get through. For whatever reason, that seems to have occurred less and less lately. I’m wondering if the Cardinals have changed their infield defensive positioning a bit.
Yeah, Arenado let it bounce on through. At any rate, Pallante got precisely what was called for. When I saw Segura take the weak, off-balance swing to roll it to the right side of the IF I thought we had escaped disaster, but as Belushi used to say, “But, NOOOOOOO”…Haha!

I like Roycroft a lot now. I never paid him much attention in the minors. But his stuff is really good. His main problem is he gets a bit wild.
For all the time I can remember, we’ve always struggled mightily to hit Chapman. Our only success has ever been watching him walk guys.
