Another twin killing get Mikolas & Co. out of inning #4 unscathed. Still 3-1 Birds.
July 21, 2024 at 1:34 pm #261110Gorman is striking out at a higher clip than Rat at the Amish restaurant with their hot waitress……Siani with a 1 out base rap…..is there anything Siani cannot do?
July 21, 2024 at 1:37 pm #261111
jj-cf-stlParticipantSiani sets the table this inning
July 21, 2024 at 1:38 pm #261112Burly drives in Siani from 2nd with a base hit……just barely got in under the tag…..4-1 Cards.
July 21, 2024 at 1:41 pm #261113Siani’s wide open full trottle was the only thing that enabled him to score from 2B on that 2 out RBI single from Burleson. That baseball was scorched to the RF’er and I didn’t think there was any way Michael was going to score, but he got in there.
July 21, 2024 at 1:42 pm #261114My 8 year old granddaughter and her friend are clamoring to go to this little amusement park over in Marshall. Hate to miss the rest of this all important game. Bring home the “W” Bling, TD & JJ!
July 21, 2024 at 1:44 pm #261115Siani once again demonstrating why he needs to be on the field. Best baserunner we have and best defensive CF in the NL.
Edman who? Sorry Gamecard.
July 21, 2024 at 1:46 pm #261116Then it’s time for you to go, Pugs…Have fun!
July 21, 2024 at 2:08 pm #261117Thanks gents. I will try to check in after the game on Tuesday with thoughts on seeing the club live. Always get more insights in seeing games live as you can observe players in ways you don’t see on television.
July 21, 2024 at 2:22 pm #261118Nice clean inning for Fernandez. Who will have the 8th assuming the score stays about the same)?
July 21, 2024 at 2:34 pm #261120The answer is Kitty. Just like yesterday as he follows Fernandez. And he gets 3 out of 4 and allows none. Unless we score, it’ll be Helsley in the 9th. If we score, I’m guessing King or Gallegos.
July 21, 2024 at 2:42 pm #261121
jj-cf-stlParticipantSiani oppo again. I know he had another game 1. Major key for him.
July 21, 2024 at 2:48 pm #261122I agree JJ. He’s a guy that just needs to put the bat head on the ball and use all fields. Let his speed play.
July 21, 2024 at 2:48 pm #261123It looks like Helsley is coming in for the non save.
July 21, 2024 at 2:56 pm #261124He does look a little rusty. Several fastballs middle middle and then walking their catcher on 4 straight in the dirt. Now a base knock puts them on the corners.
July 21, 2024 at 2:58 pm #261125And the next hitter swings at 2 sliders in the dirt to help Helsley walk away unscathed. Cards win.
July 21, 2024 at 3:06 pm #261126Taking 2 out of 3 in Atlanta is a very nice way to come out of the break. Time for Mo to get to work before the deadline.
July 21, 2024 at 5:14 pm #261138Siani does seem surprising. I notice he is outhitting Gorman by 30 pts again. It really is obscene that he will be sent down instead of someone less useful when Edman returns. If little Eddie can manage to return at all.
July 21, 2024 at 5:54 pm #261143One can hope everyone else can stay healthy that long, but the odds are against it, especially given Edman’s uncertain time table.
July 21, 2024 at 9:05 pm #261157Yeah, it’s hard to imagine shipping out a CF’er who seems to get to everything.
July 21, 2024 at 9:24 pm #261161Especially one who is out hitting both Gorman and Goldschmidt.
July 22, 2024 at 1:18 pm #261187
jj-cf-stlParticipantNot sure why you are convinced it will be Siani demoted for Edman, bling. You realize Carlson can be demoted too?
July 22, 2024 at 2:06 pm #261190
jj-cf-stlParticipantGame Ball to Miles Mikolas.
Hat-tip to Alec BurlesonGame 1, Gibson had a GmSc of 68, Gray 51 for game 2 and Mikolas 52 in the finale.
I thought the scheduled rotation of Gray, Gibson, Mikolas; was Oli’s current postseason rotation, if he were to need one (barring additions).
Good road series win.
July 22, 2024 at 4:55 pm #261202JJ, I had mentioned that a good while back, one of the previous times we thought Edman was close. It was not at all well received. I think it was Carlson has much more talent, more upside, potential impact player and 1st round pedigree. Hype slobber still sticking to him after all this time and all the PAs, in other words. And now I would say they won’t damage his trade value.
July 22, 2024 at 4:58 pm #261205By the time Edman is ready, the trade deadline will be past and the roster should be different. I wouldn’t spend a lot of time now trying to guess the corresponding transaction for that point in the future when Edman is finally ready to be activated.
