12:35 p.m.
RHP Miles Mikolas (7-8, 5.13) vs. TBA
BSM // KMOX
Also BS South and Southwest ExtraJuly 20, 2024 at 11:05 pm #261064This one would be a nice one to grab. But I’m satisfied now that we have won a game in Atlanta. This one would be nothing but gravy.
Din-din today will be a chicken thigh/leg combo and a couple ears of Aces High Sweet Corn and an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew. Then a big bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream. Thenj a 7×50 Palma Real President cigar whilst me and Whitey Herdog tune in.
And by the way, on Friday night our old buddy Tyler O’Neill got doubled off of 1stbase on a throw from the leftfielder against the Dodgers. He was pretty much loafing again and that’s why he got doubled off. Just thought I would let everyone know in case they missed.

July 21, 2024 at 10:17 am #261078A din-din fit for the king of England, Rat. I’ll be opting for a thick ham sandwich with yellow mustard, deviled eggs, Fritos and 2 Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies……I’m on a bit of a health kick since my cancer scare, so at least for now, I’m scaling back on the pies from 3 to 2. I’ll be on tap in this very game thread for today’s action…..so I hope that doesn’t scare any would-be game threaders off. This game promises to be a fun one.
July 21, 2024 at 11:38 am #261082Bike Mike Summer 2024 Tour!!
Hey gang. Tomorrow I hit the road for my summer vacay – just me as Lady Bike is staying at the home front to water gardens and tend to things here.
Anyone have a decent hotel recommendation somewhere around NW St. Louis suburbs – maybe around o’Fallon, St. Charles, Flourrisant? Hope to be around there tomorrow night.
Tuesday I head for Pittsburgh and will be at the game that night. Skenes is scheduled to pitch against us, so I hit the jackpot on that.
Wednesday head up to Cleveland for a day at the Rock & Roll Museum, then meet up with my cousin at the Guardians game Wednesday night.
Thursday & Friday are National Sports Collectors Convention show days. Will add to my inventory of cards and meet Jerry Lucas, Pete Rose, and Cal Ripken Jr.
Saturday head back and plan on seeing the Springfield game Saturday evening. Sunday head for home.
July 21, 2024 at 11:39 am #261083Carter – those are great movie references!! I have always had a crush on Allison Hayes. Did not think about The Fly – great trivia!!
July 21, 2024 at 12:16 pm #261085Waw, what a trip Mike, have fun.
July 21, 2024 at 12:32 pm #261087Indeed, quite the whirlwind trip, BicycleMike. Some of the best trips I’ve been on were taken by myself. When in Cleveland, you should check out my old high school stomping grounds ( lived in 3 different houses during H.S. ). Pretty neat places……Lyndhurst, Hunting Valley, Solon and Chagrin Falls areas on the east side. My funnest solo trip was the summer just before my freshman year at college. My parents were away for the summer, so I was staying with a friend, who whimped out on going with me, so I took that opportunity to go on an 8 day hitch hiking trip, from Cleveland to up and down the eastern seaboard……and amazingly met no weirdos the entire trip. Many stories from that trip. Anyway, have a ball, BicycleMike!
July 21, 2024 at 12:41 pm #261088Hey! They moved Goldschmidt down towards the bottom of the order! Only took until mid-July!
July 21, 2024 at 12:44 pm #261089Yeah, we miss Bling’s daily batting order post. What’s with that, Bling?
July 21, 2024 at 12:47 pm #261090Takes Mikolas a mere 6 pitches to dispatch the Braves in order. Keeps that up and he’ll have himself a 54 pitch complete game. I wonder what’s the record for the fewest pitches in a 9 inning effort?
July 21, 2024 at 12:53 pm #261092Goldy lambastes a bomb wayyyyy up into the left field rafters…..1-0 Cards. Maybe batting 7th suits Goldy.

July 21, 2024 at 12:59 pm #261095Ha! We pay you in love, Bling.
July 21, 2024 at 1:02 pm #261096Wow! Ozuna just literally gave up on the base paths without any effort whatsoever. Try that with Billy Martin as your manager and Marcell would have had a black eye for his laziness……maybe even two black eyes.
July 21, 2024 at 1:03 pm #261097Mikolas with 15 2nd inning pitches. 1-0 Cards as we meander our way to inning #3.
July 21, 2024 at 1:06 pm #261098We did see that basepath sloth regularly from a former Cardinal or two Pugs. Carrying a fat wallet around gets to the wheels.
July 21, 2024 at 1:08 pm #261099Schwellenbach hasn’t walked a single leadoff batter all season…..let’s hope that most impressive record is blemished a time or two here today.
July 21, 2024 at 1:10 pm #261100Burly drills a mammoth home run to right……this fellow absolutely rocks! 2-0 Good Guys. When you factor in the ages and the injuries, I wouldn’t trade him straight up for Mike Trout right now.
July 21, 2024 at 1:16 pm #261102Mikolas looking good thus far…..even with his lofty era, he has pitched a few nice games this year…..one of those very much needed today. Nooty with a nice catch in right.
July 21, 2024 at 1:17 pm #261103Kelenic with a solo shot to right and just like that our lead is sliced in half.
July 21, 2024 at 1:20 pm #261104Mikolas’ goal today……..6 innings with no more than 2 runs surrendered.
July 21, 2024 at 1:23 pm #261106Nooty with a shot that eclipses the center field wall…..3-1 Cards in this solo home run hit parade.
July 21, 2024 at 1:26 pm #261107Siani has this year’s GG award already wrapped up…..signed sealed and almost delivered.
July 21, 2024 at 1:28 pm #261108If Siani isn’t 100 percentile playing CF, I don’t know who is.
