Marcell – One day there quite possibly may be a movie made and a book written with the single title “MARCELL.” Whiffs hacking.
Yadi – Drills one into the left center alley that’s going to find it’s way all the way to the wall uninterrupted!….Margot gathers it in and Yadi has himself a 2-bagger!
Dexter – Way out in front on a low and and away heater and Dexter can take a seat…..but fear not Dexter….the Cardinal brass is madly in love with you and you’ll be seeing plenty of action….no matter how pitiful you perform.
Wong – Flies out to center.

I wonder if this Pads centerfielder, Margot, is related in any fashion to actress, Margot Kidder, who sadly passed away last year???

Wong – Hope we’re not batting out of order here as I thought Kolten made the final out last inning….shhhh we won’t say anything. Wong sizzles a liner into right for a base hit to get things cooking here in the Redbird 7th!
JMart – Smokes a base hit to center!…and Wong easily cruises into 3rd as he was running on the play…..sweet!
And Adam Warren’s day is going to be a short one as he’s getting yanked quickly…..I kind of hate to see him leave and almost feel compelled to giving him a parting gift or two as he exits.

Carp – Lofts it in the air to left where Renfroe camps under it….gloves it and his throw home will not be nearly in time to nail the speedy Wong….3-1 Birds!
Goldy – Walks on 4 consecutive wayward ones. Runners occupying 1st and 2nd with 1 out.
DeJong – Rolls one slowly out to Tatis at short who’s only option is to 1st which he’ll do successfully as runners move up to 2nd & 3rd now with 2 outs.
Marcell – Whiffs….now 0-4 on this fine Sunday afternoon.

Pads 1Enter Hicks and O’Neill as Brebbia and Marcell exit. 2 outs with a runner at 1st with 2 out. Let’s stay with the action shall we? Here’s where Hicks has to take the bull by the horns and say “I’m the closer around here!”
Machado – On 3-2 Manny strikes out swinging!!
Bottom of 8. Lefty Robbie Erlin center stage for SD.
Yadi – Sticks the bat out and pokes a nice little base hit out into center to get the ball rolling for the Birds here in the 8th in search of a bit of insurance.
O’Neill – Whiffs swinging for the downs.
Bader – Fists a little Texas leaguer just out of Kinsler’s outstretched glove and he’ll have a hit as Yadi plumbers into 3rd….and now Bader is hung out to dry between 1st & 2nd and he’s going to be out….this is not one of Harrison’s finer games.
Wong – Lays down a bunt that the pitcher Erlin quickly gathers but his shuffle toss to 1st will not get Wong as Yadi crosses home with the 4th Cardinal run on the day!
JMart – Grounds out to short.

Pads 1great bunt by wong. picked up bader. I love baders speed but he needs to learn how to run the bases. three outs to go. I always worry about hicks going more than one inning. he loses something when he sits down.
