Hudson had Crawford 0-2 and lost him, followed by a single. Trying to hand the lead back to the Giants.

Pablo…..strikes out this time on Hudson’s 49th pitch to end the Giant 2nd, but boy did he kill us in the playoffs that one year. 3-2 Birds.

DeJong walks to set the stage for the Cardinal 3rd. Looks like it’s just you and me tonight, stlcard25.

The Goldy free pass has the Giant bullpen scrambling as if there was a 5 alarm fire a kindling.

Just you here now, Pugs! I’ve been sleeping so poorly due to the recent heat that I’m nodding off already. Bring home a Cardinal victory!

An O’Neill force an a Fowler whiff has certainly dampened the spirits here in the Redbird 3rd. Now Weiters grounds out and the Birds blow a golden opportunity to pad their razor thin lead.

Dickerson ramrods a tying homer to right and this one is knotted up at 3. I do not like Hudson’s odds of completing 5 frames tonight…..and the way he’s dealing, the sooner he exits this one the better.

Hang in there if you can, stlcard25….I know it sucks to sleep in the heat.

This one could end up going until the sun comes up in sweet southern Missouri. The wife is snoring away while I am taking in the action. I fear I may brought bad karma by the first 2 laser beams to start the inning. Dickerson ties it 3-3 with Martinez still eyeing home plate in his tracks as that shot was gone before he had time to turn his head.

The Pirates took the Brewers into the 10th, but lost, 7-6.

Hudson won’t go 5. Time to get the bully up and moving IMO.

Wong with a lead off double oppo.

Edman has some pop for a little guy. I know the wind is blowing out but that was impressive getting it to the wall in triples alley.

Amazing that a pair of Redbird homers couldn’t keep MrsPerkins from counting sheep. Hopefully, MrPerkins will be counting a fistful of Cardinal runs in his sleep later tonight…..I think it’s going to take about 8 of them to gain victory in this one……now Edman throttles a long triple to the deepest crevices of the yard to score Wong!

Just heard that Edman’s shot would have been a homer in 27 other parks. I wonder which other parks that wouldn’t have been a homer Are? Any ML ballpark aficionados out there?

Dexter with a Baderish play in center to keep Yaz and the Giants at bay here in the 4th! Boy what a baseball pedigree this Mike Yaz has been blessed with. It would have been neat if a Conigliaro offspring had come up thru the system with young Yaz.

Hudson yields a couple blistering shots in the 4th, but the Giants have not a single thing to show for it….4-3 Birds moving to the 5th.

Trevor Gott dealing for SF. Let’s hope Trevor hasn’t “gott” his good stuff here tonight…..that one was for UCONN, as she loves those sort of jokes…..hopefully I’ve chuckled my way into one of her world renowned scrumptious cakes with that one?

Goldy walks to lead things off, which normally signals good things are on the horizon. However, of the other 4 Cardinals who have been issued walks here this evening, none have made their way completely around the bases. Let’s change that.

Listening to Kuiper and Krukow and they said KC and CWS.

I haven’t seen any Cardinals get picked off the bases lately. Let’s pray that nasty trend has ceased and desisted. A 1 out Wieters single to right plates Goldy making it 5-3 Good Guys! Birds nestled on the corners for Wong.

What about the parks at Oakland and Colorado? Aren’t they pretty large?

Wow! Is there anything that Euro doesn’t know or can’t find out about this great game???? You’re one in 999,998, Euro! The Giants cannot turn the successful twin killing resulting in our Birds now doubling the Giants up on the scoreboard 6-3.

You wonder, Forschster. I too thought Oakland was one of those parks. I didn’t even think of Colorado. Anyone know what the most spacious ballpark ever was? I most definitely know that Crosley Field was not. Forbes Field maybe?

Hudson does indeed survive 5 frames. And if nobody else scores, your’s truly’s 6-3 Cards pregame prediction will come to fruition. Fat chance on that occurring, but I certainly wouldn’t be adverse to our Cards tacking on an additional 5 or 6 tallies.

Anytime I see the name “Crawford”, I just want to call them “Crawdad” for some strange reason. Anyone else have this quirk?

Scanning the Giant faithful in attendance…..there sure are a lot of young fans. It’s kind of an eye opener for all of us 50+ year olds when you start noticing more and more that when you waltz into that McDonald’s or 7-11 store, that you’re the oldest person in the joint. It almost makes you want to go mill around a retirement home for awhile so to feel like a Spring chicken sgain.

According to announcers, Kaufman and Comerica are the parks that would have contained the mighty Edman shot
