yea I got to say happy birthday lou brock. I was such a fan back in the day, still am. I think maybe willie and ozzie are the only ones that mean close to what he means to me. im not old to have been around when stan was playing.
jack With a pick off to send us to the Bottom of the 4th. Offense needs to relax a little bit; make contact. It doesn’t have to be a long ball. Back to back hits will work.
I don’t want to take anything away from Yamamotas pitching performance because he is dominant but still it has to be pretty embarrassing for our offense that he’s done this to us for the last 11 innings and with such ease
That may have been Jacks last inning with him leading off but who knows because the pitch count is respectable and so far he’s been our only offense.
This will be the 3rd time thru the line up. I think they know what to expect by now so how about we play loose and get some runs. I’d be happy with 1 run
I know we pay goldschmidt a lot but maybe he should get a day off for Ravelo. See if someone can hit
The story is always the same when Flaherty is on the mound, it seems. Homers doom any chance that he can hold on. Now Cy Yamamoto, fresh from AA, has stymied the Cardinal offense once again.
I know it’s against our offense which isn’t saying much, but I have to tip my cap to Yamamota for what he has done. Hopefully that was his last inning and we can get something going against there bullpen.
I am watching the last 2 innings on mute because listening to Thompson when the Cardinals are trailing and trying to mount a cone back is annoying.
I saw a shot of Yamamota laughing in the dugout. I can only assume that it was at our offense. This is when someone from the Marlins organization needs to sit him down and explain that not all offenses are this bad.
Yamamoto may win the Cy Young this year.
If we go on to lose this game it will really hurt. We aren’t going to catch the Brewers and Cubs by losing to a team like this. You have to sweep teams like this if you want to keep up with the big boys. Very frustrating.
If you just look down the box score at batting averages/OPS you start thinking this team is overachieving
I think the sample size is large enough to know what we have
So once again our pitching isn’t the problem.
Sure jack gave up 3 and Webb and Brebbia have off nights going but our offense is terrible
I think we should put a lid on any discussion of acquiring a starter until our offense earns the right to consider one
Under 5 hits a night wins too few games to warrant any kind of good pitcher being brought in.
