JMart pinch hitting for Gant and make the final out of the inning. I would’ve gone with Gant another inning unless 20 pitches was his limit tonight. Brebbia in the game.

I agree with Euro. I would have kept Gant in one more inning as well.

Brebbia in trouble now as the first two hitters get hits. Bote drives in Russell with a double.

Now Brebbia walks Almora and he’s done. cubs right back in it. Yep, it would’ve been nice to ride Gant another inning.

Great strategy by Brebbia to walk the batter to set up the double play.

It could have been worse, but we’re still in the lead. Let’s get more runs, boys

Miller does a great job to bail out Shildt and Brebbia. He came in with two on and no outs and then loaded the bases on Descalso’s single. Then he stuck out Schwarber and Rizzo sandwiched around Bryant’s RBI fieler’s choice. Cards still lead 5-4 going to the bottom of the 7th. More runs is probably a good idea.

Gallegos in for the 8th after the top of the order for the Cards couldn’t scratch. Still 5-4.

Gallegos with a perfect 8th, including two Ks. That means the cubs will have the bottom of their order up in the 9th. Still, more runs would be nice.
