I see Doogy Houser, a fresh RHP, is shutting the offense down. The guaranteed way to beat the Cards…run three rookie righties out there and you get yourself a sweep.

I’m going to the game Monday night up in Milwaukee and Waino is supposed to start against Gio, I don’t feel good about the outcome in Miller Park.

Still wishin for a hit. Seen em walk Wong twice and nobody can move him. Fearsome top of the order we have tonight?

Doesn’t seem like the Cards’ night. The game has a stale feel to it and the cubs are not breaking stride at home.

Might as well start sending anybody that gets on. If somebody doesn’t wake up soon need to put in the youngsters.

Cubs with a 6-2 lead on the Giants. Looks like we will be in 2nd place come tomorrow morning.

Brewers got sloppy to give the Cards a couple runs in the 5th. Within striking distance if they can get it together.

Finally! Sigh if relief. Lot ofcalled strikes tonight. Guys not swinging at pitches in the center of the zone. How do you miss those?

Ouch. Carp with another key strikeout. A hit or at least a sac fly would have gone a long ways to tighten the game up. 5-3 Brewers so it’s not over just yet.

Carp needs to take a seat, he looks awful.

Cards with a chance to tie and Shildt sticks with Carp in a bad matchup situation. Predictably he struck out. Again. One more to add to the previous two Ks tonight. Now Bader will need a 2-out hit to tie.

To keep trotting Carp out there is Shildt saying he doesn’t want win without giving the other team a head start.

Bader goes down swinging as well. Missed a big chance there.

How do you strike out swinging at the same pitch you let go bye for a ball at the beginning of your at bat?

I’d like to officially announce that Carps contract is now considered way worse than Fowler’s.

Bader’s not chasing on balls clearly off the plate. He’s made a lot of progress so far and I like what I’ve seen the past 2 games. Carp on the other hand doesn’t deserve to be on a 25-man roster. He looks brutal out there.

Yeah I’m one of the biggest carp fans and I’ve lost all faith that he can turn it around this season. Time to stop playing him

At least the Giants have turned a 6-2 deficit into a 9-7 lead at Wrigley.

Kevin Wheeler makes a good point. Why did Shildt leave Carp in the game to face Claudio?

I think they should have pinch hit for carpenter, its obvious hes lost at the plate. the at bat bader was a good at bat. he pulled the one pitch he could hit foul. the pitch he struck out on was a really tough pitch. you can only hit that if you shorten up which isn’t taught in the big leagues anymore or if you are looking for that pitch which if you get a fastball there then you couldn’t do anything with it just watch it go by. all in all im liking the at bats bader has taken.

Mo: How about we give you another $40M?
Carp: That’d be great! I’ll sign today
Mo: Perfect, are you sure you don’t want more?
Carp: No, that’s more then fair considering I’m planning to drastically decline

Carp: (On phone right after) I’m set for life fellas, I’m never caring about my swing or game again! I’ll show up till they dump me!
