Ha ha….great catch Wooster! Now that’s not luck to nab a ball in that kind of a situation….thats 100% skill in the clutch. If that’s me, both the beer and the ball are hitting the turf and I’m going home ball-less…..oops, DeJong just booted one in the Brewer 8th.

Yep….the “W” trumps all, Stlcard25. Oh to be that crane driver, Brian. Maybe I should check the Cardinals employment listings to see if they just happen to have an opening for a crack crane driver.

There’s the first hit. Miller in to try to get Yelich. We getting good Miller or not?

So do you have Miller walk Yelich risking Miller to retire Moose with the bases loaded?

Ouch! A 2 out Grandal double extinguishes the Redbird no-no aspirations and that will send Gallegos to the showers here in the 8th with Brewers straddling 2nd & 3rd.

1 pitch by Miller and Moose swings at it and into a 4-3 to end the inning.

Good call gentlemen! Moose grounds out feebly to Wong with the bases juiced. I think I would have went after Yelich to be honest with you.

these combined no-no’s are like kissing your cousin….doesnt do a darn thing for you….unless you’re from the Louisiana bayou

This reminds me of guy who grew up near the bayous, Bum Phillips (former Oilers/Saints coach), and a line he had about why his wife always traveled with him on road games. He said she was too ugly to kiss goodbye.

Whew…Miller gets the groundout. It’s still 3-0 and I’d feel better with a few insurance runs.

Don’t think I’d pitch to Yellich, they were due for a base hit sooner or later. That pitch Galegos got hit was center of plate. Can’t be doing that

Too bad it took them this long to realize Yelich is the guy to avoid. If Matheny had done that with Big Papi, the Cards might have won the 2013 World Series.

May want to consider Miller in next inning.

It’s a risk and I don’t know what to do but they did it and it paid off.

Fortunately for Miller, Moose was aggressive. My fear was that Miller would miss the plate and walk him unintentionally. Either way, I would have walked Yelich and taken my chances.

In five previous plate appearances against Miller, Yelich was 2-4 with a HR.

In 15 previous plate appearances against Miller, Moustakas was 3-14 with a double as the only extra base hit.

We have out hit them, out scored them, out errored them, out pitched them, bug now we move along to the inning of reckoning. Let’s not blow this! Carlos isn’t pitching again tonight is he?

Edman is solid over at 3rd. It better be 2034 before we see his name not in our starting lineup again.

Miller just misses two off the plate and can’t get Gamel to bite. Now it’s 2-2 and I sense a big breaker coming. Almost a HBP there and the count is full. Gamel flies out, and the Cards win 3-0!!

One hitter….Miller the save and Hudson the well deserved win. If we’re in the playoffs, there has to be little doubt that the rotation sets up as Flaherty-Hudson-Mikolas. First things first, let’s take first.

Yep and Yep. We got 2014-2017 vintage Miller tonight.

Nice game Cardinals. 3 runs on 5 hits. Those first 2 runs were text book small ball. What can be done with just a leadoff single. Good sac bunt bunt by Hudson. Short swing by Dexter to put it in play. Hustle by Wong beat out double play. Manufacturing those runs! Great pitching Miller closes it. Go Cardinals!
