Would be nice to come away with a win here. I said going into this series that all I wanted was one win and anything else would be gravy. But even with a loss in this game we would still just be one game out with two months left to go.

Last night’s game was hard to stomach with all the blown opportunities. And the slow tossing Hendricks baffling big league hitters.

Its about 2:55 in the morning here in SW Indiana and I was awakened by my mouse trap going off. I got that little varmint that’s been gorging himself on my cheese the last couple of days. Anyway, now I cant get back to sleep so here I am.

This is a very important game. It was about this time last year that the Cards crushed Lester at Wrigley. Hopefully they can repeat the trick at Busch. I’ll say Jack Ks ten Cubbies and the Cards win it 6-2.

This is an extremely big game because while we are about to embark on a tough road trip to Oakland and LA the Cubs are headed back to Wrigley where they are almost unbeatable.

Looks like a very winable game for us to me. Guess it depends on who shows up tonight. One guy can’t carry it all so theres alot of guys that need to get their brain to bat connection going. New game, new chance. Go Cardinals!

Off topic: I would have loved to have seen Roberts pull Peterson after he didn’t run out a grounder.

‘Unprofessional’ Joc Pederson pulled for not hustling on ground ball

Ha Ha! Great one, CardinalinFrance!! I still get a kick out of Rat owning a red dog….. and you can bet it wasn’t a coincidence. But seriously, I would imagine that at least 90% of us on this board have red as their favorite color, and until now, did not give it much thought as to why it’s their favorite. Same could be said about the color blue over at the cubbies bored. I’m calling tonight’s game 9-4 Birds with Edman amassing 3 hits and Wong finding the cheap seats. What’s for din-din you may ask? It’s one of my favs and it could easily be mistaken for a breakfast. Perfect slices of succulent corned beef with a little dish of thousand island dressing at it’s side for dipping purposes, 3 soft poached eggs over 2 pieces of white toast with melted butter completely draped over the eggs and milk. Trust me, just like our Redbirds, it’s a winner!

Wow Pugs, you’ve got me salivating. And I ate din just three hours ago – goulash with spuds boiled in their jackets and a salad, finishing off with some of CIF’s famous rice pudding. I’m a little worried about Lester. It’s going to take more than a couple of solo home runs to do the job tonight, but I’m hoping.
    Rah Cardinals.

Yep, I really think this 9-4 Cards prediction is going to be right in the ballpark, CardinalinFrance. Call me cRaZy, but tonight’s game is going to tell us if our Birds are going to be playoff bound or flying the coup come October. Win this game this evening and mark my words, St. Louis will be going to the playoffs this Fall. Lose it and no way in heck that we’ll make it.

Goulash….mixed feelings there, CardinalinFrance. It can be super good or super bad. Something tells me that Mrs. CardinalinFrance is a wizard in the kitchen. Go Birds!

I’d put Wong at #1 or #2 since he has been hitting for a couple of weeks. Edman is striking out a lot. DeJong has too many Ks recently to be behind Goldschmidt.. Put Fowler there, erratic. But, DeJong is becoming a Carp, short-term.

    Edman
Wong may get a runner to second or third with at least a ground ball to second.
Martinez —too many Ks last night
    Goldschmidt
    Fowler
    Wieters
    DeJong

DeJong is pretty much worthless at the plate anymore. Another 0-4 night coming for him with at least two strikeouts.

My supper tonight, after the first 7×50 Palma Real cigar, will simply be a stadium hot dog with mustard and a BIG piece of cherry pie from the amish restaurant.

Anxious to watch the Padres/Dodgers game tonight. Padres are hot and Kershaw is pitching too.

Now I have to jump in the shower just before 1st pitch. I mowed today, washed the new 2019 540i BMW, and then jogged. I am wore out.

Been wondering where DeJong went to myself.Hasn’t done much in last ten days at the plate. Wondering how hes batting 5th? Hope he shows me up on that tonight! Wong has been on enough for him to be in front of Goldschmidt. Somebody needs to get on base in front of him. There I said it. Go Cardinals!0

Glad to see that too Pugs! Had pan roasted shoulder steaks in worchestshire sauce and turkey dressing. Gonna have some Butter Pecan ice cream with honey granola bars a little later.

Wong submitting his recent resume to make a play for a hefty elevation in the batting order. His 2nd inning single pextends his on base streak to 20 games.

    Sweet sweet viddles, Wooster!

Next would-be hitter, Bryant, goes down in the same fashion as Castratellanos . Then Rizzo grounds out to Goldy unassisted to retire the side in order. Jack with a no-no thru 4.
