Looks like this team’s flatlined without much of a chance to be revived. That’s a shame. The little whiz-kid had these youngsters playing good baseball for a minute or two. You’d think he could consistently steer his ship to winning baseball with all this first rate raw talent he has to work with…He fooled me again.

    Cards lose 5-1.

With the difficult road trip looming is tomorrow’s game a Must win?

The Cubbies trounce the Brewers 8-2 in MIL to move to within 6.5 off the pace in the NLC while the Dodgers are annihilating another HS team in SD by a score of 14-3 in the home half of the 8th. Little
Eddie’s 11 for 28 for a .393 clip since making his ’26 debut after returning from the IL. In all likelihood he’ll secure his 3rd piece of gaudy jewelry in as many years when this season comes to a close.

I just don’t think we have enough pitching to stay in the playoff race. If our hitting falls off like it has we are in trouble. These next 4 series will provide an extremely tough test.

It’s hard to say. All they have to do is stay at .500 and then find a hot streak and boom – you are in the playoffs as WC2 or WC3.

Staying above sea level is the key to preserving a playoff opportunity.

That yahoo sports article mentioned earlier in the thread brought to mind the AI assisted garbage that is taking over. Even some of the stuff on my news feed from the major outlets is terrible. I am constantly thinking can’t they have a literate human take a glance at this stuff before it goes live. But I have to say, marginal literacy and sloppy/non-existent proof reading and editing was becoming commonplace before AI came onto the scene.

Facebook has almost become unusable. Elaborate but fake posts about someone famous with leukemia and the like cluttering it up.
