Every time Church reaches base it’s bonus time. He’s now hitting .267 and that ain’t too bad from the 9 slot.

Herrera now places 4th in the league in OBP. He’s right behind Ohtani.

Too bad we didn’t make more of that opportunity, but nice snake defense.

Not working either tonight’s nor tomorrow nights Rockies-Red Sox contests, and thus am kicking back in the comfy Ekornes chair dialed in to our game.

Din-din was a bit uneventful here as well, with hot dogs that were cooked up over the weekend at our Dad’s Day get together, along with a yummy pasta salad the Lovely Lady Bike had thrown together, and some BBQ potato chips. We had a root beer to drink, again left over from the weekend, and fresh peaches for dessert.

Cards get a run but Walker hits into a 5-5-3 twin killing to keep us from a shot at more.

That was the good version of a Pallante-type inning. 2 very weak grounders and one medium hit grounder. Keep em coming Andre.

I’ll take any lead that’s offered up, but this 1-0 lead seems a little light. Kelly’s escaped the trap a couple times via the GIDP.

Yes sir. Church deserves some love. I’ve always liked athletic hustling players, and he’s that.

I thought he got it for a second, but I’ll take the long sac-fly RBI.

And now Church with the sawed off 2 out RBI base hit.

I keep getting impressed by Nathan Church, also, offensively, for sure. But I like his defense also. It seemed to me that VSII was continually letting the ball hit the ground a few feet in front of him or let the ball hit the bottom of the outfield wall and bounce back to him. With determined effort he could have caught some of those balls, IMO. He’s good enough to play at the major league level, so he’s tradable.

Well, it’s 3 a.m. I’m going to leave it to y’all to bring it on home. G’nite.

Yeah, Church has looked good and seems to be gaining confidence on the offensive side.

Winn is heating up as well, but Walker has gone a little quieter of late. That happens over a long season.

That hit by pitch from Pallante on a slight graze of a stuck out elbow may come back to haunt us here.

Nice defense by Pallante himself to snare one and get the runner at home. Two outs.

And a “Pallante” patented slow roller ends the inning. Need at least one more inning from Andre.

Pallante keeps the shutout intact through 5.

Pallante keeps the D-Backs off the board in the fifth despite second-and-third, one out.

3-0 Redbirds heading to the bottom half with the 3-4-5 hitters due up.

Got the tarps off gang back in action I see.

Agree on that heads up defense by Pallante.

Thanks for coming is averaging about 15 pitches per inning. I sure hope he can get through 6 innings with 15 pitches, or less.

Pallante gets through 6 with 1 run allowed. He may be back out for the 7th given our bullpen situation and the fact it would be the bottom of their lineup. Seven innings with one run allowed would be a fantastic outing.

They said Stanek is warming so Pallante likely done. I don’t love that decision, but not mine to make!

Haha…Those 3 innings could feel like an eternity in painless Parker’s dental chair…

There you go…Stanek does what Stanek does and places one on to the grass in deep CF.

Didn’t take long. Lead down to one run.

Stanek does not allow cheap homers. 444 feet to straight away CF on a fastball middle middle. And now a base hit through the infield with 2 outs and Romero coming in.

Wonder why I wanted to ride Pallante’s for 1 more inning?

I just now noticed our old friend Dave McKay. He’s been camped out over there near 1B since rocks were toddlers.

Yeah. Jnevel, that HR should have counted for a run and a half…A genuine 5 bagger.

Herrera still has not thrown a runner out since 2024.

McKay has been around forever! I remember him when I was a kid.
