The NL has a top handful of pitchers that have performed very well. Ohtani, Misiorwoski, and Sanchez are all having historic seasons so far. We may see 2 of them end up with an ERA nder 2.00 this year.

For the Cy Young, I think I would lean toward Misiorowski, but between the 3 I listed none are a bad choice. I also expect by the years end Skenes will be firmly in that conversation as well.

Din din today will be a Hungry Man’s Classic Fried Chicken TV dinner. Along with some Lays Bar-B-Q chips, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, a piece of Angel Food cake with chocolate icing, and a bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream. Then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar whilst me and Whitey Herdog sit on the couch and watch the game from the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. Then probably another cigar as we finish watching the DBacks and Reds game from Riverfront Stadium.

Let’s hope the boys rebound from a tough loss last night. These things happen. It’s called baseball..r

We have to shake off last night’s painful loss. So far this young team has done a good job of having a short memory. It will be interesting to see how they respond today.

Well, for those keeping track of such things, Saturday night din-din chez les CiFs was a very American pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn and cornbread with plenty of butter. Dessert later on will be whatever ice cream I find in the freezer.

Fun game last night but a disappointing finale. Another eight runs should do it tonight.

    Rah Cardinals!

I really don’t like having both Stanek and Roycroft in the pen at the same time. Neither should ever appear in a game we are tied in or have a lead. It should be garbage time only but that really limits what the manager can do.

I know the Cardinals have a history of playing the contract but Stanek’s $3.5M salary needs to be placed in context. It may seem like a large salary on this particular team but in most years it isn’t and for a majority of MLB teams $3.5M is a rounding error.

That is a good way to respond from last night.

As Albert mentioned, there’s been some overpowering pitching performances thus far this season. With all the rule changes in recent years and the perceived lack of hitters that can maintain near or above .250 to .275 BA’s, I wonder if the brain trusts would consider tweaking a rule or two to amp up offensive production around the league. Not unlike what they did after the dominant pitching during the ’68 season. How about 4 strikes for a K and 3 balls for a BB…Haha!

That was a good play by Blaze at 3B. Not easy by any means to charge that and get a good throw.

I really like these Twins uniforms. I think they are a top 5 jersey in baseball.

Jordan takes good ABs I think. He was said to chase, but so far not any more than anybody else. The immediately obvious difference from Gorman is he can foul them off rather than just swatting flies. Hangs in there, runs up the count. The bad guys will figure out how to pitch him, then we will see how it goes.

Hey I’ve got Cards ve Twins on MLB basic today! I see most everybody here today. Good thing we got that opening flurry. Hope Liberatore doesn’t give up his era now. Time to buckle down now. Where’s Pugs at? Saw Nado tornado playing in another team the other day TD! Goldys disappeared to parts unknown.

Bling, Blaze will end up chasing a lot similar to Burleson if it is in the shadow zone. But like Burly Blaze has very good bat control and doesn’t whiff much when swinging so overall he doesn’t run a high K% and he can foul off tough pitches. Jordan is Burly Jr and his approach and underlying metrics are very similar to Burly’s first 2 seasons

It’s a wonder that Winn doesn’t completely dehydrate himself during the course of the game. He must spit a couple hundred times or more leaving practically no liquid in his body, unless he really glugs down water in the dugout.

Yeah CIF but he’s a skinny guy. Got very little body fat. Probably all muscle. Not carrying around any dead weight.

Nothing ventured nothing gained. Putting no pressure at all on the pitcher. They’re looking like they’re all tired today

I would agree adding on is necessary after thr last 2 losses. Would make me more content.

My cheat meal is the Cozy Dog Drive In for a chili cheeseburger small combo with fries add vinegar with an unsweeted iced tea and a cozy dog.

Then I will venture on the town with my buddy to catch Spurs-Knicks and some world cup. Maybe some Cubs- Gigantes for some baseball.

I can’t recall if I’ve ever seen Liberatore protect a lead for more than a minute or two. It’s becoming real clear to me that he simply doesn’t have the ability to do so.
