Sheesh…I detest these challenges no matter how they turn out. Anyway, on to the 10th.
May 23, 2026 at 9:13 pm #308123Winn moves the baserunner up to 3B. Didn’t look good for a minute there.
May 23, 2026 at 9:14 pm #308124No chance for Saggese. I’m surprised they don’t challenge…
May 23, 2026 at 9:15 pm #308125They HPU ought to eject him for challenging that play at HP…
May 23, 2026 at 9:16 pm #308126Bad base running by Saggesee. Terrible
May 23, 2026 at 9:19 pm #308127Why was that bad base running?
He was going on impact due to the situation. He got a good jump. Made a good slide. A good throw just barely got him. Cards take the lead with any non-perfect throw. Good risk/reward. He didn’t want to be standing on 3B with 2 outs. That was a good call and his best chance. I had no issue with it whatsoever.
May 23, 2026 at 9:19 pm #308128If he doesn’t try, he’s standing on 3B with 2 outs. He had almost zero of a chance on that ground ball, but you almost have to make the Reds execute the throw and tag at HP with 1 out. I’m not going blame Saggese or the 3B coach too much.
May 23, 2026 at 9:19 pm #308129Reds now have 1st and 2nd and nobody out in the last of the 10th.
Score still tied 6-6.
Nice comeback but it’s going to fall short.
May 23, 2026 at 9:22 pm #308130The IBB is not only the right move, it’s unquestionably the only move.
May 23, 2026 at 9:23 pm #308131I’ll give the Redbird manager credit. He’s trying to win the baseball game.
May 23, 2026 at 9:25 pm #308132We’ll have to disagree, a bloop single could have happened after Pozos AB. Spilt milk now.
May 23, 2026 at 9:26 pm #308133Pozo just saved the baseball game.
May 23, 2026 at 9:27 pm #308134And the Bogsider from Derry works us into the 10th!
May 23, 2026 at 9:27 pm #308135Pozos DRS rating is shooting up after those blocks behind the plate! O Brien was ice cold! Yeehaw!
May 23, 2026 at 9:28 pm #308136And the Redbirds escape the 10th inning still tied 6-6.
Lets get some runs in the 11th and win this thing.
Can’t keep tempting fate.
May 23, 2026 at 9:30 pm #308137Let’s stop stalling and speed this thing up with 2 or 3 runs so we can tell these Red’s fans to hurry up and take a hike home…
May 23, 2026 at 9:30 pm #308138I didn’t think Saggese going was wrong. Took a clean glove, transfer and nice throw to get him.
May 23, 2026 at 9:31 pm #308139Yeah, you have to make them execute with 1 out. The sign was flashed from the dugout to take off on contact.
May 23, 2026 at 9:39 pm #308140I’m not sure I understood not having Victor bunt there. I get that Pozo is slow. But I’d rather force a play in a pressure situation than have Victor try to hit.
Ugh. This one is going to be tough now.
May 23, 2026 at 9:39 pm #308141Can’t buy a thrill or push a run across.
May 23, 2026 at 9:41 pm #308142I wouldn’t care if Gehrig was standing in…I’d sac-bunt every time, Jnevel.
May 23, 2026 at 9:43 pm #308143Great slide under the tag. Ugh.
May 23, 2026 at 9:44 pm #308144Tough way to end it. I don’t guess Winn should have opted for the GIDP? In any case, this team scuffled to win the game. No one packed it in.
May 23, 2026 at 9:45 pm #308145That’s exactly where a blocking the plate play would have been real baseball. Millionaires don’t want to get hurt though, I get it.
May 23, 2026 at 9:45 pm #308146If Masyn’s throw doesn’t bounce, I think he had him. But that bounce slowed Pozo’s tag quite a bit. Alas. A couple bad innings did us in.
