What’s got into Stanek? His pitching has gone from the outhouse to the penthouse of late.

Kurtz is one big kid who’s really put together over there at 1B. You can tell he wasn’t assembled in China…

Yeah TD, but I don’t know if the A’s really want this Kurtz kid to get too good, or the Dodgers will end up stealing him away from them.

Need a little insurance here with this 3 run lead. Back in the 2nd, they scored 3 runs on us in about the time it takes to make a ham & cheese sandwich……on rye.

Langeliers roofs one on Soriano’s first offering. The tale of the tape reveals it to have traveled 448 feet. 6-4 Cards here in the bottom of the 8th.

Soriano serves up a meatball to Langliers and its 6-4. Here we go!

May not had to seen ol George if our Starter could pitch 6 innings.

Now he almost serves up another but Scott catches it at the wall.

Then the next batter Soderstrom, whacks one that would have been 7 rows up into the Wrigley center field cheap seats, but here Scott gloves it a few feet away from being a back-to-backer.

    Get Soriano out of here.

Wow…..Soriano gave up about 1250 feet on 3 fly balls this inning. Truly amazing that he only surrendered the 1 run. 6-4 going to the 9th

Not the ideal way to start, as O’Brian serves up 4 consecutive balls to the first batter. Now, barring a twin killing, we’ll be seeing Kurtz yet once again.

Heim …..thar she is! A pretty little tailor made 4-6-3 double play…..go sit down Kurtz….and don’t get up until tomorrow.

McNeil taps a comebacker to O’Brien and he’ll lob it on over to Burly to put the finishing touches on this 6-4 Cardinal triumph.

Nice to see the Bogsider from Derry bounce back with his 12th SV after the tough loss in SD during his last outing. There’s been quite a few members of this years edition who have really contributed to the nice start but, I think O’Riley O’Brien’s been the linchpin to success. If he falters, the Cardinals may be in trouble.

Little drama at the end 2 innings but we pulled it out.

That rare BB to Butler ran the Bogsiders’ total to 2 on the season. He’s K’d 23. Not too shabby of a ratio and, in my view, is the key to success for any 9th inning guy.

Nice to see a win and looks like Wetherholt had a good game.

Lucky for Riley the guillotine operator was out sick the other day. He earned a reprieve. Lets hope JJ is getting a hot streak under way. It will be fun. Pallante, like the rest of the rotation, continues to do enough.

The Athletics place 3rd in WS championships behind the Yankees with 27 and our Redbirds with 11

This man was the reason for the Yankee dynasty. While all teams were hit hard by the depression, Connie Mack had to sell off his best players and N.Y. had the most money to spend.

Other teams weathered the lean times but this damn fool shot himself in the foot by trying to sue the city because people
where watching the games from their rooftops for free on 10th st.

He lost the suit (duh) so he had a 50 foot wall built around Shibe park, totally pissing off the fans and the Enquirer’s writers dubbing it a SPITE FENCE, further galavizing the fans
