There is the walk BikeMike. Now what a 3 run bomb? Seems like the Stanek way

Should have walked out and got him as soon as the base hit from Hernandez.

    Stanek . . . Sigh . . .

Pages (the Dodger version) rescues Stanek twice by swinging at pitches in the dirt.

Pages did him a favor on the 2-1 pitch.

Wow Pages bails Stanek out swinging at 2 pitches that were 2 feet away from the zone

Haha…He really let him off the hook on the 3-2!

Well Pages bailed us out by swinging at two pitches way out of the zone. Stanek lucked out there.

They’re falling short of the wall tonight.

To the 9th still with the 3-0 lead.

    Assume it’s Riley time?

1 more inch and Winn’s ball bounces over the wall to ruin Riley’s save opportunity. Alas, just a double. O’Brien coming in to preserve the shutout and win.

Doyers have the tying run at the plate with two outs.

    That being Teoscar Hernandez.

    Stay tuned…….

Looked like Wetherholt got his mitt on it. Just couldn’t quite squeeze it for the final out.

Three balls hit off our infielders gloves. The first one was a borderline error by Winn. The other 2 would have been fantastic plays.

And now a ground ball hit just beyond Urias’ glove as he dives at 3rd. 3-2 now.

And O’Brien strikes out Rushing to end it.

Don’t be concerned about O’Brien in this one. It was more good and/or lucky hitting than bad pitching. Riley still looked nasty.

    I’d say it’s a game of inches. And it’s never easy…

And now it’s a 3-2 game and the Doyers have runners at 1st and 2nd with two outs.

The Bogsider from Derry makes a pitch and seals it shut for the W!

These baby El Birdos are beginning to think they can compete. That’s never a bad thing.

Ha ha, Ken Rosenthal is a shrimp next to Walker. Bad visual. Get a box.

A series win with a chance for a sweep against the mighty Dodgers. I did not see that coming.

That pitch for the final out showed me that O’Riley O’Brien can make a pitch when he really, really needs to trust his talent and make a pitch. The Bogsider from Derry has testicular fortitude…

After being swept, the Cards have won 6 in a row. And in the last 11 games, they’ve held the opposition under 5 runs 8 times. The bad guys’ run total has been 11, 7, 5, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, and 2. The Cards gave up at least 5 runs in 6 of their first 11 games and 7 of their second 11. Is the pitching beginning to tighten up?

    1td-

Yes on that pitch from O’Brien!
