I want a slow motion replay of where it landed.
The Pirates are certainly being generous to their visitors!
April 30, 2026 at 2:08 pm #306267Gags – Hopefully we score 10 in the top of the 8th and it’s Pozo.
April 30, 2026 at 2:09 pm #306268Thought we might have Pages bunt there.
April 30, 2026 at 2:13 pm #306269Oh man, that was a pitch to hit for JJ on 2-0. Swings through the 2-1, and hits it well on the 2-2 but right to Cruz.
April 30, 2026 at 2:14 pm #306270Now Herrera lets a fat 1-0 pitch go. Come on guys, pull the trigger on those!
April 30, 2026 at 2:21 pm #306271Now they are jumping on those pitches.
April 30, 2026 at 2:23 pm #306272It is getting closer to the 10 runs this inning I asked for above.
Only 5 in the end. Not enough to put Pozo on the mound. Stanek gets the call. Here we go.
April 30, 2026 at 2:24 pm #306273jnevel-
They got half of that! So perhaps Po?
With a 6 run lead, I’d try Svanson and wouldn’t be completely terrified of Stanek…
April 30, 2026 at 2:24 pm #306274Now the question is can Svanson keep it at least to a 3 run lead heading to the ninth.
April 30, 2026 at 2:29 pm #306275Stanek with a 6 run lead. I still don’t feel comfortable.
April 30, 2026 at 2:30 pm #306276Gscottar – At what point would you feel comfortable turning to Stanek? 14 runs?
April 30, 2026 at 2:33 pm #306277Gscottar – At what point would you feel comfortable turning to Stanek? 14 runs?
At least! Ha!
Hey he did lower his ERA down to 8.31.
April 30, 2026 at 2:36 pm #30627810-4 heading to the bottom of the 9th. This would be Fernandez time, but Fernandez was optioned. So Stanek again?
No, it’s Svanson. Let’s hope for limited drama. I’d ask for no drama, but that just seems unrealistic.
April 30, 2026 at 2:45 pm #306279Svanson allows 1 on a single and a double. But we win 10-5. Fantastic sweep on the road vs a pretty good Pirate team. Great win over Skenes as well.
April 30, 2026 at 2:45 pm #306280Cards get the 4 game sweep and are now 18-13. Not bad for our rebuilding Birds.
It should be an interesting weekend with the big bad Dodgers coming into town.
April 30, 2026 at 2:46 pm #306281Everybody loves a sweep!
Rah Cardinals!
April 30, 2026 at 2:46 pm #306282Whew.
Sweep!
And the top 4 in the lineup all have an OPS over .800.
April 30, 2026 at 2:46 pm #306283Svanson manages to get it done. Sweep!
April 30, 2026 at 2:52 pm #306284Skeenes has not had a lot of success against the Cardinals in his career, I believe that is now an 0-5 record
April 30, 2026 at 3:01 pm #306285A .581 win pct equates to a 94-68 record.
April 30, 2026 at 3:12 pm #306286That would be a bit better than I prognosticated Bling . . . by 20 wins. And I think I was about the most optimistic of our bunch.
April 30, 2026 at 3:16 pm #306287Yes that would be an epic miss by me too.
April 30, 2026 at 3:18 pm #306288Checking the box score, I see that Pedro Pages is now batting .262. That puts him ahead of all but Burly and Walker of those in today’s lineup. That is another epic miss by me.

stlcard25ParticipantGood stuff to get the road sweep. The team is keeping their head above water, which has surprised me. The pitching isn’t very good and neither is the bottom half of the lineup, but they’re scoring enough to fill the win column.
April 30, 2026 at 4:28 pm #306290From the low point on Sunday to the highs of a 4 game sweep on the road against Pitt. This will continue for our baby birds.
