I always appreciated the fact that Dotel is whole a lot easier to spell than Rzepczynski. I’m a little surprised that Octavio is still pitching…

Fortunate to record that 1st out of the home half of the 3rd. I had a bad feeling about the May/Reynolds matchup. Just shows to go you that I’m not a baseball gyspy…

Kind of funny how those 1880s style beards like May has are commonplace again. Not too many years ago a guy in MLB with a beard like that would have looked out of place.

    Dotel making it look easy.

Cool to see JJ’s mama and papa at the game. Seem like great folks and provided JJ a solid foundation to be successful.

I had that as well, and as I get older I appreciate it more and more. Thanks mom and dad! Love ya!

I don’t know how a pitcher or any other player works with all that fur during a July day game. I feel like I have fleas if I don’t knock those whiskers off my chin at least every other day during the heat and humidity of the summertime.

Bucs had a near perfecto last week from Skenes, and are more than halfway through another one.

I’ve never seen a Redbird cap like the one JJ’s mom is wearing. It looks real good on her.

A perfect game after 6 IP’ed on just 60 pitches from the 3 Pirate arms thus far. If this continues and the Cardinals are victimized by the combined no-no, tonight’s Pirate pitching approach has a chance to become the latest fashionable trend all around the league that could develop into all the rage. Kind of like the miniskirt…Sweet and sexy!

Man if I had a guy throwing a perfecto I would have kept him going. Seems like this business of not over extending starters goes a bit too far.

I think the Pirates have the best rotation in the NLC – if they hit well enough they will be in the playoff hunt.

This Pirate pitcher made me think of former Pirate Richie Zisk. Hey, they rhyme…Richie was dangerous when he stood in the box with a bat.

Tommie Sisk pushes Herrera to 3-2 but gets him to keep it going.

Haha…An IF hit puts the gypsy hex on the perfect no-no!

And Burleson beats out an infield grounder to end the bid!!

A weak infield ground out and the Buc manager sends Tommie Sisk to the showers saying “This guy obviously does not have it tonight.”

Burleson with the jetcalves and lighting speed out of the LH side of the box…

Haha…Yeah, Bikemike, you have to laugh to keep from crying! It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen and I’ve been watching closely for a minute or two.

Seems like you see generation after generation of Latino players with the same surname. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but I never see duplicate names like, Gehrig, Cobb, Ruth, Mantle or even Killebrew…I find it a bit odd.

Just got back from din-din. How’s my 9-3 Redbirds prediction looking?

Whenever a player led off a game with a tater, my maternal grandfather liked to say, “Well, there goes the no-hitter AND the shutout”…I really enjoyed going to the baseball games with my paw-paw when I was a young boy.

You have the Pirates score close Pugs, but our club is falling a bit short.

Fernandez showing some good stuff. Would be great if he could help in pressure situations – and a 2-0 game is somewhat pressure packed.

If we don’t pull this out of the fire the losses are starting to mount.

Weatherman a long dong to right to tie the game 2-2!
