ParticipantWell red sox must have a terrible manager. I dont kbow if yoshida is a good player but he shouldnt have been batting against romero there if the object is to try to win the game. Took 2 pitches pretty much right down the middle. But works for us.
April 10, 2026 at 9:41 pm #304452Not sure, but he was the victim of a HBP earlier in the game, booyah.

ParticipantTerrible bunt by scott there.
April 10, 2026 at 9:44 pm #304454Pages drives the baseball pretty nicely at times. He can hit a little bit.
April 10, 2026 at 9:47 pm #304455Yeah, it was a second rate sac-bunt attempt from Scott, Willie, but he would have had to lay down a perfect one to move Pages over to 3B. I would have had Scott ripping at the baseball with Pages aboard.

ParticipantI like that mound visit there by red sox. Not because of anything other than the umpire didnt come out there immediately trying to hurry it up. That always annoys me. Manager gets out there and almost immediately umpire heads out there.

ParticipantMaybe onetough, but still has to be done right if told to do it.
April 10, 2026 at 9:53 pm #304458I agree, Willie. A player with a banjo for a bat and jets for wheels has to be proficient at laying down the bunt.

ParticipantThese announcers kill me. Said we came back from down 2-1, makes it a comeback game. Thats a rediculous statement even if its considered as such.

ParticipantObrien excellent again. Hes our best story so far in my opinion.
April 10, 2026 at 9:55 pm #304461A genuine acid test save opportunity for the Irishman.
April 10, 2026 at 9:55 pm #304462Loved the game. How much fun is good starting pitching?
April 10, 2026 at 9:56 pm #304463O’Riley O’Brien with the Sinn Fein save…
April 10, 2026 at 9:59 pm #304464O’Brien’s season pitching line is beginning to look way more than formidable. He’s been tougher than a Bogsider in Derry…
April 10, 2026 at 10:06 pm #304465All of our pitching looked great today. I found it a little interesting that the Red Sox took an awful lot of first pitch strikes over the heart of the plate from May but that seems to be a team identity if I remember right – make the other team throw a lot of pitches. That backfired on them tonight.
Another good win by this team. I agree Willie that calling it a come from behind win is ridiculous.
April 10, 2026 at 10:13 pm #304466The Cardinals are now 8-5 and although only a handful more than 27K showed up for a Fri. night game vs. the Red Sox, if the Cardinals keep playing like they did tonight, Willie Jr. will have visions of drawing 3.5M this season…He sure can’t generate that much cash flow with those lousy Arbys sandwiches that he passes off as roast beef…
April 10, 2026 at 10:19 pm #304467Another well played game. Congrats to May.
Need to keep Pages away from the buffet.
April 10, 2026 at 10:20 pm #304468First place is a good thing.
April 10, 2026 at 10:22 pm #304469“If it were a cheeseburger, he’d a caught it”…
April 10, 2026 at 10:33 pm #304470Often times a collection of young baseball players who begin to play reasonably well for a substantial number of games will become convinced that they can compete. When that happens, those young and hungry baseball players can become a formidable foe. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.

Lowe leg HBP. Went out for the 4th and removed in the bottom.
Him and Scott got some chicken legs. Lol

Cubs drew a shade under 29K for a 1pm start. 50 degrees at game time. Maybe Dewitt needs to pedal the fish sando (never tried) and Chicky Sandy’s instead. We know they not dare not pimp Lions Choice.

I think he and Winn are very average to below average at that skill. (no hard # in front of me) Especially in getting runners over.
It is early but I believe Scott has 5 bunt hits this season. He had 10 all of last year.
Its a skill that likely has been overlooked due to coaching in the minors due to each one’s prospect status but Scott speed and lack of thump makes this more of a necessity. Let’s see how this shakes moving forward.
April 11, 2026 at 7:27 am #304477FWIW, this spring, I saw Scott taking special bunting drills most days in camp with Jon Jay and Stubby. Church often participated as well. But it is likely much easier on the back fields with a machine pitching than in an MLB game.

ParticipantBunting off a pitcher is def much harder since you dont know exactly what tbe pitch is going to be. Seems like it would be better to have actual human pitchers. Dont have to be mlb pitchers, could just be retired players or regular volunteers that know how to throw different pitches.
